Post#1 » by ChampionRed » Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:12 pm

After 6 long years. It's finally happened. The Atlantic Yards Project finally got the go-ahead to break ground.

This is a huge day for this franchise. Now we just need a superstar to pair up Brook. Come'on Lebron you know you want to play with a big like him. Jay-Z, Brooklyn, cap space, a rich owner, and a 21 year old All-star center (well he should be anyway), what more can you want?

Now we just need the Newark deal to be redone and all the pieces will have fallen into place.

this sucks, the only team belonging to new jersey now is the devils. and since i dont like hockey.... this really sucks. i hope the brooklyn toxic avengers dont get lebron.

and just to clarify, i was born with a rare gene that makes me hate any sports team from the state of new york (giants, jets, bills, knicks, red bull), even in sports i dont like (islanders, rangers, yankees, mets). dont ask me why either.

I understand being a Yankee's fan and hating the Mets...or being a Devils fan and hating the Rangers...and so on, Giants vs. Jets, ect...but come on....there is no sense in hating Brooklyn...

It will be difficult to embrace a team not called the Nets...Brooklyn Nets sounds great to me...I dunno, from the Dr. to JKidd...from the ABA to NBA...this franchise name should be here to stay...

This is a monumental day for our organization's future...

My sentiments exactly. That gene runs strongly through my veins.

If the Nets played in Brooklyn but kept "New Jersey Nets" , then you wouldn't hate them? Because that logic applies to your Giants / Jets hate.

These Knicks fans are really starting to piss me off in the general board. They're completely disrespecting New Jersey. I can understand making fun of the team since this is a basketball site, but a state of people who have nothing to do with the the decision to move to Brooklyn? Uncalled for.

thats an interesting point. but even though the giants and jets PLAY in new jersey, they are still seen as new york because new york is a more attracting name. there will never be a sports team that plays within the state boundaries of new york but carries the name new jersey.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
