There is one intriguing player potentially on the market: Knicks guard Nate Robinson, banished by coach Mike D’Antoni because of his game antics. I dont know if they'r going to disturb the ray allen contract just to get someone. I'm not sure of their other expiring contracts. Right now, chemistry is top of the list of important factors. Unless they are offered a high draft pick for Ray's contract I cant see him leaving.

I think any trade we make would be a minor one. I doubt Ray gets dealt... in fact I think he re signs here in the offseason and he retires a Celtic. Im guessing Danny is looking for a vet 3 to spell Pierce for 15 to 18 minutes a game and wont be a headache in the lockerroom. Ryan Gomes would be my pick but who knows what exactly the Twolves would want for him.

Danny will have to think long and hard about trading Ray. He is a huge asset especially in this economy! If we can get an allstar in return we have to do it! The teams trading for Ray are interested in his expiring contract, so we can always resign him back...

I agree if minor means trading none of the starters or Sheed. Also agree that we could use a backup 3.

The biggest trade that I could see going down would be for Maggette. Scal, TA, JR, and Billy gets it done. JR and Billy don't play anyway. TA only plays because Quis is injured now, and Scal is mediocre at best, and probably plays as much backup 3 as he does backup 4. Maggette would be a better backup 3 or backup 2 than is presently on the roster. He's 30, still in his prime, and would be nice for a team built to win now. That's the biggest trade I could see Danny doing. GS would be doing it strictly for cap relief.

Other than that, Gomes would be a nice smaller scale trade.

I only trade Ray for an upgrade at the 2. That's it. I don't tank this year expecting to sign him again this offseason. I'd rather keep the chemistry with this team going than make a major move now. The time to do anything with Ray's contract was last summer imo.

I personally think that Maggette would be an excellent get for us for the above mentioned package, losing nobody of any real significance (Scal, TA, JR, and Billy). We'd be so stacked in the front court and the wings too. The only area of possible concern would be backup PG. I sure hope Danny seizes the opportunity to improve the club by trading non-contributing expirings for somebody who'd be a clear improvement, and I think he will. It's gonna be a fun leading up to the trade deadline. Much speculation, to be sure. Anyway, I hope we land Maggette. I think he could really help when it comes to playoff time in defending Vince, Lebron and Kobe, and the very physical Artest. He's pretty rugged in a PP way.

I've never been a big fan of Maggette, and his contract would go longer than anyone on the current roster, but this would give skilled veteran backups at every position-- in fact, it's not a bad "backup starting 5" at all. Maggette can create his own shot and is a much better shooter than TA, so I would consider this trade but with the caveat that shipping out 4 players mid-season is going to effect the chemistry even though the players leaving are not rotation quality. Also, all the chips will have been played so unless Danny is very enamored with Maggette I doubt this is his type of trade. Gomes trade probably more likely.
