OT: Cleveland vs. Lakers

Is anybody else watching this game? Cleveland blowing out the Lakers and the fans are starting to throw foam fingers on the court.
On a side note, it looks like the Cavs are finally starting to integrate their new acquisitions very well and are looking more and more dangerous in the Eastern Conference.

This game is exactly why it's stupid to put LA up on a pedestal...they run into a little adversity and show zero composure. Too busy throwing histrionic fits when they should've just kept playing the game. Shades of 07-08 more than last season, but it was one hell of little Christmas present now wasn't it?

And yeah, love the fans they got there in the Staples Center showing their true colors today.

One game fellas.......we got beat no denying that. The thing with the fans was the epitome of how the whole game went, yeah our guys lost their composure today which is uncharacteristic. Laker fans in Staples are usually laid back in the lower bowl, so it was kinda nice to see they actually watched the game today. But you won't see that again from them.

Well now we're tied with you guys...........to DOF, yeah 1/31 will be war you know this already.

Laker fans in Staples are usually laid back in the lower bowl, so it was kinda nice to see they actually watched the game today. But you won't see that again from them.

Uncharacteristic as a team perhaps, but not entirely out of character on an individual basis. Kobe and Fish can let their emotions get the better of them, although w/ Kobe it only seems to make him better. Artest, well.....so far so good but that dude is always capable of going off the deep end. Odom imo is off his game when he gets upset too, even Gasol seems to get a little out of it when he's beefing with the refs. You need all those guys to be locked in to be successful against the rest of the best (- Fisher, don't think you really "need" him that much).

Whatever though. The game ultimately means nothing, but you don't want to see a team defending a championship and looking for another displaying that lack of composure (well, I do ). Because while this game means little, how are they going to respond when they are facing adversity and the game does mean something? Probably not like this but it does become a question mark.

Anyhow there's a lot of time between now and the end of January. I just hope both teams have good health when they meet. if nothing else it will be the most hyped game of the entire NBA season when it goes down, just like Christmas last year.

Merry Christmas to yall on the left coast, as much as I like to bust balls I still have a warm spot in my heart for Cali and LA, wasn't that long ago that it was my home and folks out there were always good to me.

Fair assessment DOF, yeah they wore their emotions on their sleeves today but you know that could've been the rush of the game itself and playing one of the elites of the east and all. But you're right I'd much rather myself see a championship contender keep cool under pressure. I could get into the ref thing about the game but bottom line is they didn't adjust it's as simple as that.

This game DID mean something, only those who are sore losers say Christmas games don't mean anything. We lost, we lost bad and we lost to ourselves not the Cavs. The Lakers minus Kobe did everything wrong in this game. I think it was a little payback for ruining their loss-less run on their homecourt last year.

WOW, funny how we lose one game and we laughed it off yet Cs fan start up two threads about our game. Talk about being placed on a pedestal.
And the shades of 07/08 comment as well as our fan base comment. LMAO.
Ya we lost and we took our loss and moved on but seems like some of you still dwell on those games after two years have gone by but funny how we have moved on better and brighter things like 09 champs for example.
As far as our fan base, you know and everyone else knows that yesterdays game was Bull and yet you sit here and bring up our fan base, when we all know that the minute you guys lose you bring in everything from the reffs to injuries to the weather to trading P.P or Stern and his conspiracy and you start 10 thread about the reffs and everything else you can imagine. But now our fans showed their true colors... lollll. Okay we'll take that. I myself didnt agree with the actions of those people and I found it wrong, but you know what Im glad they did, Im glad that they made it very obvious how BULL that game was called and the officiating was terrible. If you disagree that yesterdays game was called fair and square then either your blind or you have no clue how basketball game should be officiated. But now since the tables have turned and we got screwed over by the officials ITS OKAY.

Again we are not blaming the reffs since its all part of the game and if you do visit our board like you always do you will see that there isnt even one thread showing any frustration or any complaint about the way that game was officiated. In fact if anything our TRUE fans showed their displeasure about the way our team played NOT the way the game was officated.

You want to sit here and talk about composure when Sheed techs foul counts are going up faster than Tigers women are surfacing by the day?? Or better yet Perkins or Doc?? Come on now. Your basing your opinion off of one game. Your reading to much into this. You should worry about your own teams problems than sitting here and pointing out ours. I think you guys have bigger issues than we do. Yesterdays game was terrible but we're over it. In fact we are laughing about it while you guys are opening threads after threads about it left and right.

Seriously Tony, I only posted that because 1.) it's on the C's board and it's ok to prop up anti-Laker propaganda here 2.) I just finished watching that game and was drunk on Christmas day victory and Laker defeat (pretty much the only time I'd ever root for Cleveland) and 3.) because I wanted to get a rise out of some Laker fans. As GWB would say, mission accomplished

And you know ya'll do the same thing as well from time to time so don't take it too hard. See, I appreciate the honest, reasonable fans of any fanbase and especially that of our rivals, but there's a lot more fans out there who were due for some ball bustin after that game. Only problem with text is that you can't really tell how serious I am, or not at all.

But for really reals, I'm glad you're not blaming the refs for the loss, your boys just played like **** and the Cavs were on their game. Kind of like Christmas last year, yall were on your game and we weren't. We got screwed with some bad calls in that game just like the Lakers did yesterday, but it wasn't why lost, we just got outplayed. It happens. I'm sure this loss isn't going to derail your march to the finals, although I'm sure we will derail your effort to repeat once you get there. Buuuut that's why they play the games, right?

Also - whether you want to downplay it or not, the lack of composure thing is troubling for a championship team. For now I'll just chalk it up as a hyped up game on a big stage, but if it happens again, you really can't feel too good about it. Whatever though, it's like I said....it's just one game and in the long run doesn't mean anything. When everyone is 0-0 in the first round of the playoffs, not one person will be mentioning games from 12/25/09, I can guarantee you that.

Its one thing for us to lose and we got jacked by the reffs and we gave it all that we can but its another to lose and we gave no effort or heart and get screwed by the reffs. In this case we lost without a fight and who cares about the reffs. We just didnt have it.

In all due fairness sam_I_am, I think the quotes you were seeing were from the "GB Laker" fans. If you came to our board you'd see we were upset but not to the point of saying what you think reps all Laker fans. First off we lacked intensity period, and like last year with you guys Cleveland needed the game as a indicator of where they're at. But I do agree you can't dismiss it as being meaningless, myself I believe you have to beat the contenders when you have the chance.

Who ever said this was just another game is a idiot and a lier. This was a game against one of the top contenders in the east that we might possibly meet if and when we make it to the finals. So no it wasnt just a game, specially when your trying to win as much as games possible to gain H.C.A come finals. To top it off its a matter of pride not to allow Le fail and Shaq to come into your house and woop your arse in your house on Christmas day.
