More on "winning environment"

Post#1 » by halfHAVOC » Sun Dec 27, 2009 3:17 am

ill quote myself from the other thread because i been getting pretty annoyed by this

halfHAVOC wrote:2nd of all i just want to say, ive had enough of kiki just talking about how "wins aren't important" we just want to devlop our players, well if you don't develop a winning environment and don't instill winning as the most important thing in these young players, they're going to be satisfied when they lose.. i mean really what kind of big name FA is gonna want to come to a team of guys that don't put it out on the court every single night? even if we kno this is a developmental year, well make sure winning is the number 1 priority to these players to make sure they carry that onto next year.

(yes not many ppl quote themselves!) but

to add on to this, do you guys not notice alot of the players joking around after a loss acting as if nothing happened, when you see GOOD teams lose or teams that even care lose, they are upset or disappointed after the game. It seems to be happening more frequently after every game from more players.....Why is this not a topic of concern for the nets aside all else? It seems like LOSING IS BECOMING A HABIT!!!! and players just EXPECT to lose so they act as if it is not a big deal! ahhh lol i hate this maybe this comes with pro sports but still is an issue imo.

Yeah, we can't stick to this, but for some reason I believe that the team has become more of a realist these last week or so.

yeh its like we're becoming numb to losing...I agree the mentality needs to change, its a bad habbit and something that should not be accepted no matter who the team it is...I was a surprised about Kiki's comments...obviously you dont want players to concentrate on the losing...he needs them to develop individually...I cannot agree with him publically making that statemen (those words should never come out of any coach's mouth...regardles of what maybe he truly meant/it just came out of his mouth wrong... :dontknow: )

I think as long as the team is trying, like they were against Houston, it's fine. If, however, they start losing like they did in Toronto then there's cause for concern, deff.
