Have to vote fore Rondo but I still find it utterly embarrassing that he is a 55% free throw shooter. For some strange reason nobody has told him his elbow is all over the place on FT's and jump shots? He needs to get a routine or start working out with Ray. You have to put shots up in practice and lots of them. That's how he can get better and catapult himself to elite level on a more consistent basis.

Gave it to Rondo. He was great. I loved his aggressiveness attacking the basket and the boards. I can't say enough about Tony Allen. Without Pierce and Daniels, we needed a good game from Tony and he came through.

IMO, a healthy TA is better than Daniels. He does things on the floor than Daniels can't do. That cross over was very nice, his defense was good, and I love the fact that his battles for rebounds. Great win.

RR had a fantastic stat line and definitely was excellent overall - but he missed 6 FTs, 6 bunnies (which he rebounded), and had way too many TOs.[quote]

You often talk about underrating Paul Pierce.

Well, this is Rajon Rondo's team NOW. It's just a few of us that have realized it.

Paul is still the closer, and one of the greatest players of ALL TIME, but

Rajon pretty much has been running the Celtics, on the floor, offensively, for quite a while now.

Rajon is super human.

13 rebounds. 8 assists. 17 points, too. 2 steals, Plus caused constant havoc.[quote]

Until Rondo can perform like he did during the Chicago playoff series and like he has for 28 games this year for a year or two, and diminishes his TOs, learns how to make a consistent 15' J, can shoot 75% rather than 50% from the FT line, and stops missing half of his bunnies after he penetrates, you will NEVER convince me that this is "his" team. The Truth remains the "man" on this team with KG and Rondo as his 1A and 1B in whatever order you like - Ray has dropped to his 2!

However, I think we can agree on the following statement: Paul, KG and Rajon are all incredibly valuable components of the best team in the EC - and each obviously brings a different skillset, i.e. KG as the heart of the D and provider of mental toughness, RR as the "stirrer of the drink" (just wish he was less TO prone, could consistently make a J and consistently make a FT), and Paul as the explosive scorer (when it is necessary), one of the best clutch closers in the NBA and the well rounded well above average rebounder/playmaker/defender.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Haven`t you noticed his new free throw routine? He started doing it 7,8 games into the season I think. It is 3 bounces, correction to get his elbow in, shoot. It looks much better than before. He had the tendency to shoot it to the right, now he pretty much always shoots it straight, when he misses it is either short or long. The % doesn`t show the improvement yet but IMO it is just a matter of time before he starts making them at 70%+...I am actually quite comfortable when he goes to the line now because he has a routine and the potential for improvement is huge...

If you have a chance please re-watch the last 8 minutes of the 2nd quarter. From the point we were down 20-25 -- an 18-2 run. That's where Perk did his magic - got all of his points, all of his blocks (listed as 3 but actually he blocked 4 shots in that stretch) and grabbed all of his rebounds. When he came in, the game completely changed.

Rondo created havoc as usual and controlled the tempo so despite the horrendous 1st half TO's the cigar may go to him but Perk is my hero... Also, props to TA. We're lucky to have him back and healthy.

What better Christmas than seeing our Pierce-less roster beat the second best E.C. team on their home floor, and then seeing the Lakers get blown out with their fans throwing things onto the court in disgust. I loved Rondo's performance, but I'll have to give some love to Ray Allen for repeatedly hitting momentum-halting shots that would kill mini-runs from the Magic.

Rondo, then Rasheed who was freaking brilliant, I mean he was a banger, then Perk, who was a monster, then Tony who was serviceable as a goofy alternative to Pierce.
Ray and KG were as bad as the Magic offense but both brought it on D, especially Garnett.
Eddie needs to be put out to pasture.
Kudos to Scals for making a three and playing decent defense and team ball.
Tony's airballs were a riot and against a decent team might have killed us but against those bums last night didn't amount to much.

Perkins is absolutely invaluable in this matchup. There is NO other center in this NBA that offensively limits Howard as much as Perk. This entire game, Howard could hardly get into the key. Granted he's going to get his share of rebounds because he is a freak, Perkins doesn't allow him within 10 feet of the hoop. He's like an angry robot.

As long as TA keeps having performances like these, I'm voting for him until he gets one. Rondo had a wildly inefficient game, but is going to once again get another victory cigar. His filling up the stat sheet is getting overrated when it comes to the voting for these.

Also, to everyone saying Perk, he played less than half of Dwight's minutes. He's not the only one that held him so tightly. He's great on Perk and set the tone on him, but he's not the only reason.
