How do you feel Atlanta matches up with Cleveland?

Post#1 » by LeBronade » Mon Dec 28, 2009 11:03 am

We know what happened last season between these 2 teams but what about this season, has the matchup changed much? How do you see it playing out when Cavs visit you in couple of day? Just curious!

Cleveland swept us in the playoffs when we had two starters hurt and not playing, but the games during the season when we were healthy were pretty competitive, at home. We've gotten better on the road this year so hopefully we can compete in Cleveland, but I think we'll be fine at home.

Yep I consider this upcoming game a danger game, sort of the big hurdle that could prevent us from eating into Boston/LA's lead!

The Hawks match up fine with Lebron. Mo, Shaq and Big Z are the problem guys for the Hawks.

It would be very tough to beat any of the 3 top teams in the East...but I'd say our best bet of challenging someone would be Boston. Their top 3 scorers happen to play the 3 positions in which we are least vulnerable defensively.

Cavs are one of the games where Marvin actually has good value

It's going to be speed (Atlanta) vs power (Cleveland), an interesting battle in styles.

You guys do have Crawford who is probably the single biggest Cavs killer to walk to planet.

Home team should win both games. Hawks are far more quick, explosive, athletic. Cavs are much bigger inside and have the best player in the world. I expect a split.

Hawks probably have the best personnel in the league to guard Lebron. It will be interesting to see how much Josh Smith guards Lebron. Smith has the size and athleticism to contain Lebron, but Lebron is good enough and clever enough to get Smith in foul trouble early.

Scary as it sounds, these two games probably hinge on Marvin Williams. Ugh...

Jamal Crawford is a killer when it comes to playing CLE. He will be a problem for us.

I also think the ATL transition game is a problem. We are excellent defensively in the half-court but in transition we have had some problems this year.

These games should be a good measuring stick for both teams. Almost like a mini-playoff series.

This is definitely the most nervous game of the season so far!

The Hawks better play their A game or they will feel like what they got now is a waste including the record they got now.

Atlanta matches up well against Cleveland. They just need to mature to the point where the execution in their half-court offense becomes more natural.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

I wish that was true. I don't think we match up well with any of the teams with dominant size in the post (Cleveland, Orlando, LA). Hopefully the Hawks will prove me wrong tonight.

The Hawks match up well with Lebron. Unfortunately the hawks can't match up at all with Shaq, Big Z and Mo.

Hawks match up well with the Cavs, as they proved tonight (again). Our problem is we don't have anyone to defend those 3 CLE players who wear the striped shirts. They kill us.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
