Game of the Century: Vikings @ Bears

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:02 am

ESPN has to be thrilled with this matchup. The Vikings back-ups vs. the Bears starters. I'll take the Vikings back-ups by 21.

Believe it or not, I'm really looking forward to seeing a two things in this game:

1. Chris Williams on Jerad Allen (and not the other way around)
2. Gaines Adams/Jarron Gilbert in the rotation for Adewale

These are the keys to the offseason rebuilding IMO above and beyond S, RB, WR etc.
If we're lucky enough that either Gaines Adams or Jarron Gilbert can be that DE replacement we won't be that far away.....yea yea....I know.....But an Emperor can dream can't he?

The Vikings will not be playing their backups. This is a huge game for them. They can still finish as high as the 1 seed or as low as the 4 seed.

I've accepted the Bears suckiness, and lately almost rooted for it in order to see some major changes (get rid of Lovie). But I would love to stick it to Favre and the Vikings and cost them a bye. Favre has sucked balls in the cold the last few years, and I'm hoping it's frigid as possible tonight. I hate the F'ing Vikings with a passion. I'm also looking forward to the Williams/Jared Allen matchup and seeing if we can have ANY DE show up and make a couple plays.

If we can pull out a miracle win tonight, then I'd be ok to go ahead and lose @ Detroit next week in order to see heads roll.

If you mean from a pure comedic perspective, sure. We'd be wise to give Williams help all game long vs keeping him out there on an island. Could get reeeeaaaaaal ugly.

I just want to see what Gilbert can do as he's supposed to see more than a few snaps for once.

Vikings 41-6.

Then the Lions can embarrass us and put a merciful end to the season.

But, hey, think of that great draft choice we'll have in Round 1 ! Er, I mean Round 2 !

Never mind. :nonono:

Great job by the defense though. Peterson loses yards on 2 consecutive carries. Chester Taylor did gain like 11 or so yards but was short of the 1st down. 1st and 10 for the Bears at the 40.

That defensive stand reminded me of the old, good Bears defense minus the long run by Chester Taylor. We need them to step up if we want to win this one.

Nice throw by Cutler to Des Clark. Kick the FG now on 1st down before we can turn it over.

It feels like the Bears are the team battling for playoff position while the Vikings are the team playing for nothing.
