Paul Pierce and his defense and clutch 4th shooting, where are you?
Get well for Atlanta.
I hope Doc rests KG if he is hurt.

How about he learns how to coach and starts using timeouts when teams make huge runs on them which happens constantly all year. Secondly for as great as Rondo played he made some seriously boneheaded plays. Fouling Ellis on a 3 and fouling Turiaf on your end of the court with 1 second left. He basically gave GS 5 gift free throws. Technically it should have only been 2 but instead of taking the last shot we decided to let GS get it "down" to 13 instead of maintaining a 16 pt lead going into the 2nd quarter. Not a good trip. Suns are going to eat them up Wednesday too.

Re: Bos-GSW Game Thread
we're back in a bad stretch just like we were after we won 6 straight to start the year. we looked tired last night and losing baby on a cheap shot didn't help our depth. how they didn't call a foul on that play is ridiculous. Turiaf is a goon who is out there trying to hurt people and he succeeded. Now Davis will probably be out another month if not longer. that was just BS. Once again Perk hurt us with his lack of composure. But last night was a collective poor effort from a bunch of tired players. To top it off ,our coach decides to play eddie down in crunch time when we clearly could have used TA's defense. I also thought doc should have pulled perk for wallace. perk cost us like 3 or 4 possessions in a row.we need a spark off the bench and we're just not getting. it's time to see what giddens, wlaker and hudson can do

25 turnovers (21 turnovers from the starters) doesn't help either.

Yeah....that's part of the "not being smart" part "in key moments"

ps.....not knowing who to go to....now that Paul is not on the floor in key moments.....this I think the Coach needs to take more a firm hand on.

Hang in there Celtic fans, anybody judging you guys without your number one option on offense is either a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) or simply don't understand basketball. We've hit a patch of not playing so well ourselves, but this is why you build a cushion over teams in your conference so you can absorb some blows when they're being dealt. The Celtics will be fine.

Thanks guy. This ain't the end of the world but probably not the end of the losing streak either.
I'm surprised how much people are downplaying the importance of Paul Pierce to this team right now, did people really think we weren't going to skip a beat without him? We wouldn't have lost either of those games with Paul on the court. We're really missing the calm and poise he brings to the starting unit.
This seems pretty obvious to me, but KG got hurt worse than he let on with that fall in Orlando. He's looked like **** again ever since. Plus with the nagging thigh injury, Doc should park his butt on the bench against Phoenix and let him get some rest. I know some people might say "you can't do that, this is an important game", well these games aren't important enough to further jeopardize his health, we have a LONG way to go until the playoffs.
This has been a pretty grueling roadtrip with all the traveling and little rest and guys are banged up. I know Doc will never mix things up ever but this PHX game is the perfect opportunity.
Despite the statline, Rondo played like crap after he tweaked his hammy last night. Hopefully this isn't a re-occuring injury.
*Am I the only one who can tell whether a Rasheed three will go in or not before it leaves his fingertips? When he gets his whole body square and gets his legs into it, he rarely misses. Yet most of his 3's are off balance, upper body lazy heaves and they never go in. I wouldn't mind him tossing up 8 threes if he did so with good form on all of em. GET YOURSELF SET, IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

Maybe Davis should've stayed on the treadmill and bike and not gained the 30 pounds back in two months, then just maybe he would've not wrecked the ankle.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Davis has actually lost a little weight while he was out. At least that's what Doc, Danny, Bob Ryan and Jackie McMullen (who saw them practicing last week and who hosted the D&C show this morning) said.

Not buying this - he looked heavier again. Fat people get alot of love in our society as its such a common issue.

What you weren't impressed with the defensive wizardry of Rondo? <g> There are no stoppers in the NBA - seriously.

Re: Bos-GSW Game Thread
Pretty much sums up how I feel after what I have seen the past two games. I also do not see the celtics beating the suns either so we are probably going to see a 3 game losing streak.

Victories over the Celtics improve résumés. Victories over the Celtics keep coaches off the hot seat and appease impatient general managers. But what these GMs need to realize is that this Celtics team is not the elite team it was believed to be in November.
While the Celtics can be downright impressive in stretches, they are not impressive often enough for a team that hopes to play deep into June. Take Monday night at Golden State. The Celtics led the Warriors, 35-17, in the first quarter, and Golden State looked lethargic and uninterested.
Golden State scored a whopping 86 points in the final three quarters and earned a 103-99 win, annoying Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, who was quick to point out his team’s issues.

Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

I hate to let facts get involved here but Rony Turief landed on his ankle....that's why it's hurt.
Celtics vice president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Tuesday afternoon that he doesn't believe the sprained right ankle suffered by Glen "Big Baby" Davis is as serious as first feared. Davis got mixed up with Golden State's Rony Turiaf with 9:52 left in the game when Turiaf landed on his ankle. Davis left Oracle in arena wearing a protective boot and walking with crutches. "I haven't heard anything, which means nothing is serious," Ainge said. "I sent (trainer) Eddie (Lacerte) a text and I haven't heard anything and usually that means it's not much." Boston Globe

Re: Bos-GSW Game Thread
I know we're supposed to just take our lumps because we played like crap, and how it's such a cliche to complain about this after a loss.....but we got bend-over-and-touch-your-toes F***ed by the refs in this one pretty hard. At one point in third quarter it looked like the refs and the C's both had money on this game.
