After all of Flips huffing and puffing, I will take a peek to see if there will be any actual changes to the line-up/rotations. Last night Flip ran the trio for 40 minutes on a b2b and expected a good defensive effort against an atheletic squad.

I didn't even expect a good defensive effort if they played 30 minutes and had 3 days off...
Lineup change FTW;
Gil/Young/DMac/Blatche/Wood...
Watch us win this one if these guys play 30+ minutes...

I'm not sure we'll see a wholesale change in the starting lineup. But I think Flip will have a quick hook and by the end of the night the minutes distribution will be very telling.

With all of the bellyaching about how our roster couldn't possibly play any defense, you show a lineup that could actually be decent defensively. Just do it Flipster!

Re: Pros vs. Joes, who cares? GT 01/02/10
Pros vs Joes is funny. Maybe Flip will go big. Ive been against it but maybe its the best thing right now for a number of reasons. AJ's D is killing us in the paint and we always seem to play better when Blatche comes in. CB also looks terrible so far at the 3 in this system but maybe he will look great at the 2 in the Rip role and will get the ball more often. I wouldnt be shocked if he started Blatche instead of Foye. I wouldnt be shocked no matter what he tried right now.
The one thing I hold onto and that probably puts me in the major minority is that I dont care about records. The only thing I care about is us going into the playoffs at full health and playing well in like the last 15 games heading in. I think if we are doing that then we can still beat the big boys. The reason I say minority is because I love big games more than anyone I know and I always want the hardest challange. Nothing is better to me than playing the best opponents on the road. Even before this season, I was torn like always. I always want us to go 82-0 but at the same time find a way to win the title by playing the big 3 in the East and LA in the Finals. Thats what I always want but I know its basically impossible to workout that way.
Now it sucks the way we started this year but it does kind of keep my wish of being able to be something like a 6 seed and have to go through Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando to win the East. I dont want to play anyone else. Thats the only good thing about that whole that we have dug and I could care less about home vs road. No doubt it helps but it still only really matters in a game 7. So the bottom line for me is that we are bad now but now doesnt matter nearly as much as later. I also disagree with everyone talking about how weve played the cupcake sked and now we have to play the big boys. I disagree because I think its more about us. It dont have nothing to do with the sked. The way we played early this year, we were a 10-20 team no matter who we played, good or bad. Now if we flip the switch and start playing how we are capable of then we can beat any of those great teams that we have to start playing. Its not about them, its about how we are playing.
The other thing I am on top of everything is superstitious. I believe in time, numbers, the power or one, and so on. Therefore I believe that it can happend where you are at a nice perfectly even number of 10-20 and thats when everything changes. Its making me feel even better because Flip went off. It just seems like one of those situations where everyone is talking about us 20 games from now and looking back to this date about how they were 10-20, the coach was going off, Gil had gun problems, the team was in turmoil, they were about to play the Spurs, and thats when it all flipped. I dont care who you are, you have to play with some extra passion when a coach calls you out like he did last night and I think the crowd will also rally around that and boost the team. I think they will play with alot of passion and urgency for the 1st time.
All that may be ruined by the fact that he may use a new lineup with no chemistry but maybe the flip side happeneds and the new lineup works. We will find out soon enough. It wouldnt shock me to see more Dom & Oberto though. Now that I think about it, he may start Dom at the 3 and that way he may can still use CB at the 2 which he may be better at in this system. However, he may just leave everything the same and see if the speech helped. There are pluses from every lineup change we could make but there is also a minus, because we will might be taking a shooter off the floor which would pack the lane even more. Lets just hope something works

It'll be nice once there is something to actually debate and talk about again. There is just nothing to say currently. I'd argue that what I said months ago is still true (start Dom at SG and we'll win more games), but I want to tank. I don't want to debate ways of making us better. I cheer losses. I wait for trades. Until then, there is simply nothing to say. The majority of wiz fans want this team blown-up. Do what your fanbase wants.

Had Flip started this lineup and brought Butler and Jamison off the bench, and allowed the best combination to stay on the court at the end, then the Wizards would be above .500.
He's been losing by jumpshot, lack of team play, lack of defense, giving up size inside, and guys who got off shots but don't take pride in defense. Had he benched two of the culprits at the start of each game, the Wizards would have played much better team ball.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Hey Jim. I'm actually not going tonight, but I ended up selling my tickets the other day to a co-worker of my girlfriend.

Re: Pros vs. Joes, who cares? GT 01/02/10
I was getting hyped because Im believeing Gil’s story about it not happening, I liked that Flip called the team out, I like what I heard about the great practices, I liked what I heard about CB looking great, and with all this going on I was thinking that we might turn our season around right here tonight by beating probably the best team in the league right now with Gil & Caron playing great. Then it all goes away when I hear at the very end of the day that Flip says Gil might not play tonight because his knee is sore or something.
I think if Gil doesnt play then its bad. If its his knee then people will be on him about his contract again, espically after this gun stuff. I dont think we can beat the Spurs without him so all the stuff I talked about with Flip’s comments and turning the season around, probably goes out the window because we will lose even after all of that and guys will get down on themselves again. Then if we win without Gil, it makes the critics say that we need to find away to get rid of his contract and get him out of here. If he plays and sucks because of the knee after every thing that has went on, everyone will lay into him again and the team will be down on themselves.
Gil has to play tonight, he has to play well, and we have to look inspired as a team. A win tonight with Gil & Caron playing well would give us a big boost, espically if our D starts to look better. Anything else and it could be a bad deal
