Is AD the BEST of ALL TIME???

Moderator: Worm Guts

Is it accurate to assume that its not false to think that that AD might not be the best of all time?

Is AD the BEST of ALL TIME???

Post#1 » by Devilzsidewalk » Wed Nov 7, 2007 7:43 pm

I know this is a really crazy question to ask after only 1/2 of his rookie season, so I'll ask in a really small font:

Is AD the best running back of all-time?

I'm starting to think the Viking forum needs to an Adrian Peterson sub-forum. And the answer is yes.

I think we should re-name the Vikings forum the "All Day forum" and make a Vikings sub-forum

I think it's a little premature to label him the BOAT. He still has to stay healthy this year, keep his numbers up, and keep bruising the opposing defenses. I think right now he belongs in the top tier of all time running backs, but that may just be the homer in me talking. But what the hell, he gets my vote...

I hope this thread is not asking if AD is the best running back in the history of the NFL after 8 games. I've seen homeristic stupidity, but this would take the cake.

We will just have to wait and see. But in the meantime, just let Vikes fans bask in the promise that is AD. It has been dark days for the Vikes the past several years, so AD has been the light at the end of the tunnel who can hopefully carry the team to a superbowl in the future. I know I am probably overreacting to his greatness but he has really been the lone bright spot for this team the past few years...

AD has the freakish athletic ability like Bo Jackson, only he has great instincts and vision.
My Kobe Bryant website I designed myself: http://personal.stthomas.edu/dnnguyen/kb24.

stop hating, we'll see you how you feel when Nick Barnett becomes the first player ever to be decapitated by a stiff arm courtesy of the Greatest Running Back of All-Time, Adrian Peterson.

^^^ LMAO

Peterson's stiff arms are eerily similar to the stiff leg the horse gives the dude in your avi.

Wow, that was a very tricky question. I answered yes though.

If tomorrow you were having an all NFL game with the best players at their respective positions of all time, Adrian would HAVE to be one of the top candidates for the starting RB position. He takes what so many of the former greats were able to do, and he adds his own touch. A great example would be the game vs the Packers. He takes the hand off on a run to the left end, he cuts back and goes right, and just as one defender has a clean hit on him, he jukes him out of his shoes and is gone. After going about 20 yards, Nick Collins get his hands on him and is taken for a 19 yard ride. Next thing you know, Collins, the defender, is lying on the field injured. Wow!

His only flaw is that he is young and that we don't know how he will produce in the future. That's the only knock people have on him. And I can understand the concern. But given the touches he's had so far, he has produced at levels never before seen. Teams KNOW we are going to be running the ball. They KNOW that they can focus the majority of their efforts on stopping AD. Yet they still can't do it. Two 200 yard games in the first half of the season? When the all time record is six in a CAREER? Are you kidding me? All this while we have possibly the most uncertain QB position in the league?

As Denny Green would say, "Crown (him)."

You want homerish? No one has ever been as good at anything as Adrian Peterson is at running the football. Ever.

thats very homerish of you indeed. Brett Favre is AT LEAST as good at throwing picks as AD is at running the football, probably better.

Oh and apparently there is a torn ligament in his knee. No surgery needed, but we shouldn't expect him back right away. The worst part is all those who said he was injury prone are gonna be screamin "I told you so," when this was just a case of bad luck. Al Harris knew he had to tackle Peterson low in order to get him down, and AD was just caught totally off guard.

Anybody else notice how unsurprised the commentator was when AD was on the ground? I was in total shock, and the commentator was acting like he had been expecting it the whole time. I wanted to throw something at the TV and hope it went through somehow and hit him.
