Nice...I was in the process of doing this and you churned it out. I'll just tweak your's a little. You are on the right track. I think it would be best that we do a series thread instead of a different thread for each game and you have that so great. We are on the same page.

We will see how our pitching is after the 1st two games, our 1st 2 games be have some solid pitchers, then ones after that, not really.

Pitching will probably be our biggest problem and weakness all year long.

The Pirates pitching is weak as well... I think the Astros can take 2/3.

Our bullpen should actually be pretty strong, the only REAL ? being Lidge.

Starting wise, I'm only concerned about Wandy really, I think Samson will be pretty good...

but Wandy, dear God he's terrible, why is he still here?

Yes, your right it will most likely be our weakness all yr, but here is an article from the chron today, it said this team has a lot of similarities as the '01 team, and that team won the division title, it had the same question marks, with the pitching, and if the fully loaded offense would live up to its expectations.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/spo ... 79731.html
Heading into opening day of the 2007 season, Astros All-Star slugger Lance Berkman finds optimism in the memory of his team's 2001 season.

That was the season the Astros opened with plenty of questions surrounding the back end of the starting rotation. As that club sputtered along, a kid named Roy Oswalt came up from Class AAA New Orleans in May, providing a crucial boost toward the 2001 National League Central title.

Oswalt is one of the best pitchers in baseball now, and he'll be on the Minute Maid Park mound for his fifth consecutive opening-day start tonight when the Astros face the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jason Jennings, Woody Williams, Wandy Rodriguez and Chris Sampson round out the Astros' starting rotation......

Nobody else watching?

Luke Scott starts off the season right where he left off! Our offense will definately be improved if they stay healthy!

2-0 Stros...

Yeah, they will, but this is what we need to do every night, our offense doesnt look bad, not bad at all, I think we can expect the same production tommrow night from Jennings, but the night after is what im worrying about.

I'm not too worried about Williams, he's not great but he'll give us some good innings(and he's usually always pitched well in our park), it's Wandy I am afraid of. Samson is good but he might be up and down since he's still young, but Wandy is just bad.

Sampson I like that guy, he looks like he might have a good future, but we have to see, still young.
