Well I was pretty close to Canada's roster.

I had Lecavalier, St. Louis, Doan, and Bouwmeester instead of Marleau, Bergeron, Staal and Doughty.

Bergeron played his way on to the team and he had chemistry with Crosby a few years ago on the World Championship team. Marleau has been tearing it up this year and they can keep the 3 Sharks on one line. Staal has been effective playing wing. I'm surprised they selected Doughty though. Don't get me wrong, Doughty is awesome but I think I'd take the more experienced guy in Bouwmeester or I'd take the best offensive defensive in the NHL as my 7th Dman in Mike Green. My guess on the lines is:

Nash Crosby Iginla
Marleau Thornton Heatley
Staal Getzlaf Perry
Morrow Richards Bergeron
13- Toews

Niedermayer Weber
Pronger Boyle
Keith Seabrook
7- Doughty

1-Brodeur
2-Luongo
3-Fleury

Isn't Morrow a surprise more so than Bergeron. I actually like Bergeron on the team. I was hoping they'd go a little younger, and faster but i think it's still a gold medal team.

It'll be scary facing the Russians though with Ovie, Semin, Malkin, Kovalchuk... :o

I really like the team USA's young forward (although they're a bit weak down the middle) but their defense leaves a lot to be desired especially offensively. Komisarek, Orpik, Martin, and Suter are all similar players with little offensive game. I could see them using a forward on the powerplay with Rafalski. But with the way Ryan Miller has played this year they'll definitely have a chance at gold.

Martin and Suter are nothning like Orpik and Komisarek. Orpik and Komisarek are similar players and are both physical defenseman.

Martin is a very good puck moving defenseman. He will be on the top PP if he is healthy. Still not playing so if he doesn't make the trip, look for Ryan Whitney to replace him because they are of similar roles.

Ryan Suter also plays on the PP. Averages 3:30 mins a game with Nashville. He is not in the same mold as Komisarek and Orpik.

Team USA has a lot of speed. Should be fun to watch them play. I would love to see Orpik get Crosby and Malkin with a huge hit. Not injure them, but give them a good hit.

Martin's career high in goals is 6 and points is 37, hardly great offensive numbers. Suter is a bit better offensively but he's really a 2nd PP unit defenceman. In a short tournament like the Olympics the powerplay really needs to be good and I don't know if the US has enough offense on the back end. I could see them putting someone like Kesler on the point on the powerplay with Parise/Stastny/Kane up front.

A duo of Ryan Miller and Tim Thomas will keep the Americans in every game. I really like the USA team, Burke going young was definitely the right move.

I was actually surprised people were considering Mike Modano for the team.

I think the idea there was to have his experience, not necessarily his skill.

I was shocked to see Bowmeester off the team I love his game he would have made a good pairing with Phenuff. Wow Canada is trully stacked, I feel bad for anybody who has to play us.

I would rank the teams like this

1) Canada
2) Russia
3) Sweden
4) Czech Republic
5) USA

I think the States will finish 4th or 5th I don't think they can keep up with Russia, Canada or Sweden or I think Finland is a dark horse.

US definitely went gritty and young, which was exactly the right move. The goalies will have to be stellar to give them even a shot to medal. I like the team, but they just dont have the talent that some of these other squads do.

Canada is clearly the favorite, though the Russians will be tough. Their forward lines are freakin scary.
