The Edmonton Oilers fans have completely abandoned their team hoping they tank it for a top 5 draft pick with the loss of Ales Hemsky. I think now that that is the case, we have a real shot at becoming trade partners. Now I know Hemsky is injured and wont be able to play for the rest of the season, but he is still a very good player. There is also guys like Dustin Penner and Shelden Souray there that could be up for grabs.
What do you guys think? Is there a way we could try to get one of their best players or even their Draft Pick?

I don't think there is a good fit there.
- Dustin Penner would cost an arm and a leg, I'd rather not acquire him. I HIGHLY doubt Burke would go after him anwyays.
- Souray makes too much. We have to re-sign both Kaberle and White this offseason, and already have a pricey defensive core. In addition, where would everyone play? We already have Beach, Komisarek, White and Kaberle in our top 4. Unless Edmonton wants to take Finger back in a package, there's no way we'd be getting him.
- I only see Burke going after a certain few on their roster. They have some interesting younger guys, but at what cost?
