Bonner

Post#1 » by batmana » Sun Dec 20, 2009 5:11 pm

Guys, I have noticed some forum members being very harsh on Bonner. My opinion is he is a very valuable player for us right now and brings things we can't replace. He is shooting the 3 at a great percentage and, contrarily to the popular belief, is giving his all on defense. Last night v. Indiana was a great example of how we missed him. McDyess and Jefferson have been really bad recently (I mean mainly on offense) and I'm starting to lose faith in the possibility of achieving something this season...

Anyways, I wish Bonner to get well soon and all I'm left with is to say "GO SPURS GO!"

Bonner has been one of the bright spots in the season. You know exactly what you are going to get night in and night out. Can we catch a break with injuries.

TP missed games
TD missed games
Manu missed games
Mason missed games
Dice missed games
Fin missed games
now Bonner

Can we stay healthy as a team for 2 mins so we can gel.

We're really gonna miss Bonner, especially his offense. he's not the best defender or rebounder but he always gives it his all. Plus he's Canadian.

Bonner is actually the most valuable big we got outside of Duncan of course..The problem is when we decide to play both Bonner and Blair/Dyess on the court at the same time and as a result our defense suffers immensely..I'm all for keeping Bonner on this squad despite his inadequacies on the defensive end and on the glass for his invaluable 3 point shooting and spacing alone..However I'm also all for moving one of either Blair or Dyess if that means retrieving one much needed defensive presence to put alongside Duncan and bolster our overall defense..Blair is quickly becoming a defensive liability and Dyess can be so much more but fails to do so..

Bonner's injury could have been a blessing in disguise. Our bigs have played so much better since he has been out. I am not saying he was the problem as the Red Rocket has been lighting them up as of late.

He is quickly becoming a favorite Spur of mine. Because I know what I am going to get from him night in and night out.
