ESPN Sportsnation poll: Who has been the best QB in NFC?

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Mon Nov 12, 2007 5:17 pm

The choices are Romo and Favre, and Favre is winning 70% to 30%, with Texas as the only state voting for Romo.

Am I the only one who thinks Romo is the one that should be winning 70 to 30?

Who would have thought that Brett Farve would have been this good right now. I knew he was going to have a good career, but never knew he was going to be this good. So, I have to give my vote to Farve. Though I still think Drew Brees is going to finish strong.

Well if you look at the weapons Romo has compared to Favre Romo clearly has it a lot easier.

And Favre as led 3 4th quarter comebacks which is what I think is tipping th scales in his favor.

Favre leads the league in passing yards. Hes on pace for close to 5000. Come on, and romo has a better core of receivers.

i dont think its me being a homer saying i agree with you, people say look at romo's weapons well bledsoe had the same weapons last year and he still sucked, romo's also doing this while having a running game, something favre lacks. i think the running game argument can go either way (u can say defenses key towards the passing game) but the fact remains favre's thrown 62 more attempts than romo and only has 200 more yards. the td/int ratio is practically the same at 2/1 but romo's is better at 23/11 (favres is only 16/8)

this is just breaking down the stats on the surface, i have no idea what someone like FO says (i dont read or subscribe to them though i'll look into it this offseason)

i just thinks its b/c everyone is in love w/the wily old veteran who's winding down though is experiencing a bit of a renaissance and playing like his old self, this isnt to say romo hasnt received tons of praise either but for someone reason everyone's so stuck on farvrah. but IMO romo's been better.

as for the 3 comebacks in the 4th romo's only had to come back in 2 games, 1 was successful the other was vs. the best team in the league and the team's chance to comeback was just gone. cant blame romo for his team and him doing a better job in quarters 1-3

They are both have outstanding seasons. Really not fair to judge one over the other right now. The match up in a couple weeks will be awesome.

The real question is, how many times did John Madden and Chris Berman vote?

My vote is for Favre.

It still amazes me how a 136-year old man can chuck the pig like he can.

I agree that its close, but I just think Romo has been clearly better, if that makes sense.

Romo has been more consistent as well, aside from the game vs Buffalo he hasn't been under a 91.0 QB rating. Favre has been a few times.

Both guys have been outstanding, but I just think Romo has been better.

I don't really like either one of them, though.

And Romo is on pace for 4500 yards and 42 TDs. Your point?

Anyways, I was just surprised at the poll results.

I go Romo. Have to admit, thought he was overrated. After this season - Romo will win at least one championship for Dallas. (<But not this year lol go Pats!) :)

I think he just worded it wrong.

He says, after this season, Romo will win at least one Championship for Dallas (But not this season), so I'm assuming, what he's trying to say is that Romo will bring at least one Championship in the future for Dallas (but not this season)

Also Romo has a running game in Dallas. Favre has had to do this with no team respecting the run and he's thrown less INT's in over 100 more passes than Romo.

Who's the gunslinger now?

Why would you think Romo would be ahead. Its Brett Favre people love Brett Favre of course he is up. And don't act like favre has such a dramatically better receivers. He has Driver and Jennings. Which are two pretty damn good WR's. That being said I think they are pretty even. But favre will always win in a popularity contest.

Favre against your pansy-ass Vikings this season:

2 games
71.4% completion
347 yards per game
5 TDs
0 INTs

Of course you would say Romo.

Why are you so mad sir when some one disagrees with you? Both Romo and Favre are great qbs. They play the game the same way. They almost have the same stats in about every category. There is no clear cut winner. But favre will get more votes because he is just a popular guy.
