Ratprs Fan Here

With the way things are working out for you guys, ill assume making the playoffs is not a concern right now. From what I know, you guys are having some Chemisrty problems all while your GM is putting VERY YOUNG talent around your Franchise in Granger who is in his win now stage.
Well, we are in the same boat as we have a some young talent trying to mesh with guys who are in the stage where they want to win now.

I was thinking of a trade between the two of us making both teams much better. (For us now, and for you in about 3 years)

To Toronto
Granger
Hibbert
Ford

To Indiana
Bargnani
Calderon
Belinelli
2011 and 2012 first round draft picks.

Why O'Brien considers it:
We send you probably a guy with one of the biggest upsides in the league in Bargnani. The guy can flat out score. If Bosh wernt on our team, this guy could easily go for 25/9.
His rebounding is getting much better and is a monster when it comes to shot blocking. He just needs the confidence to know hes your main man. Did I mention we have nicknamed him Clutchnani because if his late game heroics.

We also send out a Point Guard that beat TJ out for a starting spot and will help Earl Watson develop. It also takes a bad personality out of your locker room (and from what I hear, a ball hog too). Truth be told, the only reason im adding in Calderon and TJ is because TJ was probably my favourite Raptor of all time next to Bosh and VC. Not sure how that would fare for Toronto since we have Jack now but im sure it will all work out.

Bellineli is just there to sweeten the deal. Who wouldnt want Sylvester Stallone on their team?

Hibbert is only added in to replace Bargnani as our Centre.

So what do you say Pacer Nation?
Feel free to make any reasonable adjustments to the trade involving Granger as he is our win now guy.

Granger is not in win-now mode. He's 26. Hibbert is 23. Hansbrough is 24. Rush is 24. This is a core that's going to grow up together.

We send you probably a guy with one of the biggest upsides in the league in Bargnani. The guy can flat out score. If Bosh wernt on our team, this guy could easily go for 25/9.

And he can't defend a lick. Granger supplies the same scoring, with a steal and a block a game.

TJ out for a starting spot and will help Earl Watson develop.

Earl Watson is 30. TJ back in Toronto? It would be better for the both of us.

Bellineli is just there to sweeten the deal. Who wouldnt want Sylvester Stallone on their team?

I don't know...us? He's a nice young talent, but again, no defense.

Hibbert is only added in to replace Bargnani as our Centre.

He makes this trade more lopsided. Hibbert is developing into a great center that can put up 20-10-3. He did it against Marc Gasol most recently with 25, 13, and 4-5 blocks, I don't remember.

So what do you say Pacer Nation?

Did you run this through the trade checker? This should also go into the trades thread that we have for this sort of thing.

Hmm...so let's see our rotation once this is done:

Calderon/Watson/Price
Jones/Bellinelli/Head
Dunleavy/Rush
Murphy/Hansbrough/McBob
Bargnani/Foster/Solo

We have Murphy and Bargnani both playing (redundantly ridiculous). Half of the team wouldn't be able to play defense. The team would be 60% white. While talent-wise it doesn't have much to do with anything, but the outcry from fans would be extreme. Also, Granger is our #1 guy. We're not going to trade him for an obviously NOT franchise player. Bargnani has NOT shown that he can get 25 and 9. What he has shown in 33 MPG of play is that he is a great second banana to Chris Bosh, who attracts a lot more defense than Bargnani does.

This is a tremendously horrible offer, and a complete non-starter.

We're not moving Granger, and even if we were, it would probably take almost all of the valuable trading pieces that Toronto has (i.e. Bargnani, Derozan, and 1st round pick/s).

Calderon's looking to be a bad contract right now, and is longer than TJ Ford. So, essentially in this deal, Toronto gets by far the best player, the best contract situation, and the tremendously talented young center in Hibbert? And all you give up that you like is Bargnani? Really? When we would still have Murphy, and have invested a 1st rounder in a PF in Hansbrough? Seriously? Did you even think about what Indy's needs could be? You obviously didn't look at the ages of players to consider that Granger is still tremendously young, and is by no means out of "growth" or in his "win now" years. He's still young. He's still got a long time in Indy.

Seriously. This is worth a lock. Nothing at all worth talking about.

Yeah, just not a good offer at all for the Pacers. Locked.
