But some of his decisions just seem out of nowhere, like when he cut Rouse, who was obviously a project, after one bad game and brought in a free agent. I liked Rouse and thought that he was going to amount to something eventually, and I was pretty bummed to see him go.

Rouse has always been garbage. I wish he wouldn't have cut Anthony Smith, Jamon Meredith, and Jon Ryan.

I am a big TT supporter and always have been. He drafts very well and doesn't blow cap space on over the hill free agents. Pickett and Woodson are two of the better free agent signings of the past few years in the NFL. Not only do we have the best young core in the league, we also have the financial flexibility (and cap space assuming there will be a cap at some point) to lock them up long term. He is also very shrewd when it comes to front loading deals and making sure contracts don't handicap us in the future.

Rouse sucks.

Anyway, it makes sense to pick Rodgers since he's the best of the younger QB's in the NFL and it has to be a QB that could be the best of the decade. Plus, he has every tool you'd want in a QB, and he's only getting better.

I don't know if he is only going to get better. I would like to see him when Donald Driver decides to hang up the spikes. I think that we need to find a legitimate 2nd option receiver to go along with Jennings and Finley.

I think Jordy and Jones would be fine as #2 and #3 WRs alongside Jennings and Finley. That is especially true if we can actually find a RB that is a receiving threat out of the backfield.

And of course he's going to get better as a player. He still has things he needs to work on and he hasn't even finished his 2nd year as a starter.

I agree those guys can be fine as the 2/3 WRs. Jennings is a legit 1 and Finley has a chance to be a top 5 TE. I also agree it would be a big help if we got a receiving threat out of the backfield.

I want this guy. He'll be a weapon for some team that gets him 15 touches a game as a RB/WR/PR

I like Dexter McCluster a lot too. With the depth in this draft he may be available in the 2nd maybe even 3rd.

When do you think he will be drafted? He is exactly the type of guy we need.

I think Jordy would already look like a very good reciever if he were starting opposite Jennings and with FInley. He's big and strong and can break tackles, but he also has very good top end speed and seems to be a good route runner since most of the routes he runs now are timing routes outside.

I really like his future despite the fact that he is getting lost in the shuffle in our current offense.

I saw him play twice this year and that kid can fly. Get him out in open field on stuff like screens, look out if there is some day light.

Dexter is fast. Wouldn't mind him on the team. Someone mentioned that with the depth of this year's draft that McCluster "may" be available in the second or third. Unless McCluster has an epic combine (and if he does then who knows what happens given what Chris Johnson has done) I'm not sure there's any "may" about it. I cannot imagine his stock being that high. I think his size - we're not talking small like CJ Spiller or Chris Johnson are, we're talking small like Darren Sproles - and that he never proved enough as a constant and consistent running threat keeps GMs from drafting him higher where they typically look for the #1 backs. As a utility player, I think his stock is probably more like the third round right now. The combine could change that, of course.

But who knows how big of an impact what Chris Johnson is doing will have on the draft.

The Packers were very careful w/ how they brought him along, when he became the starter, there was no real competition behind him, they've ensured that he can play within an offense and doesn't have to do everything himself, I am just worried that projections like this kind of fly against how careful we've been with him...

...Also, the be player of the decade, I think you have to have a magnetic personality, thankfully, in my opinion, Rodgers doesn't. He is a team guy who isn't in it for personal glory, like James or Ovechkin...

Rodgers is a really interesting guy. He had a lot of maturity issues when he first got to Green Bay. There were stories about him being a complete diva his rookie year which were pretty off putting to me. That said, since that time he has integrated himself wonderfully into the state and endeared himself to the fans. He's been a godsend.

Imagine if we had to spend every week hearing about how we should have kept Favre (shudder).

He admitted so himself, but that's a common thing for guys entering the league

I just saw the Cotton Bowl highlights on Sports Center. I would definitely be happy getting a player like McCluster in the 3rd round. We need a rb like him, he could really kill in the return game and screens out of the backfield. I am going to be interested to see what he runs at the combine, he looked pretty fast in the few highlights I saw.
