I vote BYNUM with capital letters because it sounds more hectoring.

Jefferson for me. I don't like Bynum; I think he might be a pussy. Doesn't have a dominant center's mentality. Al wants to be here, crazy work ethic, no confidence issues (personally, for me, confidence issues is one of the biggest red flags a player can have).

Bynum is overrated.

Enough said.

i agree Bynum is over-rated at this time. Not saying he is without talent, a trash piece and all that, but his attitude and skills and everything we've seen from him sofar... i'll stick with Al.

Bynum fits what the lakers need.

-size, athletic, defense, role player. But Al is a better player. if his passing and defense continues to improve he will be recognized as a better player. Rambis is helping him a lot.

Byum would give us that true center and I think he will be a very good player. Al has some things you can't teach however, he has that killer mentality, he is in no way afraid to take the big shot and succeed. The hings that Al is sub par in, most of them can be taught and learned. Al has put in work and made strides to improve on his weaknesses every year. After seeing his play this season, I am convinced that he can become a smarter passer and better defensive player. I have to go with Al.

while I'd really love to have Drew on our team because he'd be a perfect fit for a 3rd big man I wouldn't want him at the expense of Al. seeing that Al has been improving his shortcomings as of late save for getting to the line a lot more it makes even less sense for us to trade them straight up. Lakers wouldn't do that deal either.

Bynum seems like a better fit defensively, but then again Spencer Hawes would never in a billion years have a 30/11/5 game against Al Jefferson. I'd probably hold off for now, but visit it again in the offseason to get a better idea how both look 100% healthy.

Bynum is hurt by having to play next to Pau Gasol and endure Phil's mind games. While Pau was out he was a pretty dominant player on both sides of the ball. There is simply no offensive space for him with Pau and Kobe dominating the shots, and pau and artest cut into his rebounding total.

Bynum is more efficient than Al offensively, and on the defensive end it is not even close. Throw in that Bynum has elite size and is a True Center and I have to vote Bynum. Both have health issues.
People will say, there are only a few true centers left, I argue that fact makes the few that are out there EVEN MORE valuable.

He is a good player on a GREAT team. Al is a good player on a very bad team. I think bynum could easily put up 20/12/3 here if he stayed healthy, while shooting 55%+.

I like Al, but Bynum would make this so much better on the defensive end it is hard to say no.

I'd rather stick with Jefferson. But it would be interesting to see how Bynum would perform at centre next to Love.

I would agree with this....think about the Spurs. You could argue that they haven't had a true center since The Admiral, but they've been fine without.

Tim Duncan can do anything Patrick Ewing for example can do, he's a true center.

I don't really like either for this team, but I would take Bynum since the Wolves have Love at PF.

Al ought to be worth more overall (I voted 'jefferson'), but Bynum is a better fit here.

I still think there ought to a be a trade bringing Bynum in (his value to the Lakers is less than full since they have two elite bigs beyond him who hurt his production) plus something else, sending Al out to a third team, with the third team giving the Lakers a good PG, decent backup 2/3, and decent backup 5 in exchange for Al.

-The fit of Bynum plus the "something else" makes up the difference of Al's value over Bynum for us.
-The above issues for the Lakers with Bynum changing into fixes for the the only 2 remaining holes in their lineup make it worth it to them.
-The third team's ability to consolidate 1 good, 2 decent players into the best player in the deal makes it worth it to them.

There's a CHI/MIN/LAL(/MIL) deal on the trade board that has some promise. Any other ideas?

That's kind of what made me wonder. The trade included MIN getting the CHI 1st, but Al going to CHI might make it non-lottery.

I wrote the poll this way, a method I used to do in ESPN fantasy forums, because I would imagine that for the capital letter "JEFFERSON" voters, a 1st wouldn't be enough, but for the "jefferson" voters, it might be something they'd consider.

I've never been a big Bynum fan, and the fact that he's gone 20 games without a double-double adds to my worry. However, I agree with you on the potential fit. Our team could use a young center with the tools to be very strong defensively. The fact that he misses Kurt Rambis is fortuitous as well. I think Bynum would be better here than in LAL, and Al might be better on a different team as well, so trade value is increased and there is a potential trade. However, I think it comes down to how many additional assets MIN could receive in addition to Bynum before most Wolves fans would consider pulling the trigger.

Bynum has had the best coaches and the best team to learn under. Jefferson has had the worst coaches (with the wolves at least) and the worst team until this year with Rambis. Bynum should be better than he is, and I agree with whoever said that he is soft. Jefferson is better.

Everyone saying Bynum is a better fit I disagree with; I agree that a player with Bynum's exact skill set is a better fit, but Bynum himself just doesn't seem to have it. As I said earlier, he's too much of a headcase for my liking, appears to doubt himself to much. No room for that in the NBA. He's proved that he's capable of putting up big numbers, and by his own admission the only reason he isn't now is all in his head; that, to me, is worse than someone who lacks the necessary skill but has a fighter's mentality.
