The good:

1. Finally winning a championship for the first time in over 20 years.
2. Getting great owners
3. Getting Danny Ainge as our GM
4. Getting KG
5. Getting Ray
6. Drafting Rondo
7. Acquiring Glen Davis in the Ray Trade
8. Getting Doc as a coach
8. Getting Tom T. as our defensive specialist
9. Getting Clifford Ray to work with our bigs.
10. Getting rid of Jim O'Brien.
11. Drafting Perkins, Jefferson, TA, Gomes, and D. West.

There are so many more.

Now for the Bad:

1. Trading Joe Johnson away.
2. Trading for Raef.
3. Wasting a pick on K. Brown
4. Trading for Bassy.
5. Giving Mark Blount an extension.

He at least seemed to be thinking championship instead of just over .500. It was painful watching our young kids get their lunch money stolen every night, but in the big picture it was fine. We weren't going to win with those kids in the end. It was all about assets.

I didn't mind the tanking. It sucked that we got #5 but let's be real, even had we got #3 or #4 the result would have been the same-- trade. Ainge wanted Durant, which he could only get with a top-2 pick. In some ways it worked out for the best because if we got Durant, we probably continue rebuilding for another 2-3 years, and we end up trading Pierce.

The main point is that Ainge had a plan, it was obvious what it was (to those paying attention, not the media fools), and he was actually executing it very well even when we were losing night after night.

I will never totally agree that Ainge knew exactly what he was doing his first three years. There were too many WTF type transactions for me to accept that blindly. Although, to be fair, MOST of his major mistakes were done in his first year (trading Antoine Walker for Raef LaFrentz's contract and re-signing Mark Blount are first and foremost in my mind), and the next two to three years were spent trying to undo those mistakes. But whatever, all's well that ends well.

My favorite memories include:

First, I'm surprised the Bulls series last summer hasn't been brought up more often. I don't know that I've ever watched a series as emotionally draining as that series. Between Rondo and Rose's classic duel with each other, and Gordon and Ray going clutch shot for clutch shot, it was probably the most exciting series I've ever watched. 5 out of 7 games decided by 3 pts. or less, with buzzer beaters in games 2 and 4. Not to mention game 6 being decided by a Derrick Rose block. This series is probably my 2nd favorite memory after the championship in 08.

summer before the 08 season
-the buzz around the team when the KG and Ray deals happened was astounding. So many questions were surrounding the team: whether Rondo and Perk can handle their responsibilities, can the big 3 share the ball, will they play defense. Then they came out and completely stifled the wizards the opening game of the season, and answered most questions about sharing the ball and defense.
the 08 championship (games 4 and 6)
08 ring ceremony

-seeing Al Jefferson and Delonte West develop
-I remember I was away for a few days when we traded back for Antoine, and picking up a newspaper and seeing the big 88 jersey on the cover of the Globe just confused the hell out of me.

3 nfl titles, 2 mlb titles, 1 nba title

also an Undefeated season and 4 super bowls

(The Pats also still have a chance at winning another one as well, since it still counts as 2009
)

It wasn't an undefeated season, you guys went 18-1.

The regular season is called a season, we've got the banner up to prove it.

This decade has meant a lot to me, I became a real die hard fan around 97 which was Ron Mercer and Billups rookie year what I really remember from this decade is...

-The first playoff game I ever saw, well it wasnt really a playoff game but it was being labeled as this generations first playoff game because it was a must win game vs Indiana if we wanted a shot at the playoffs, we didnt win but we knew we would have something special for the next season which we did when we made an ECF!

-The trip to the ECF, I LOVED THIS TEAM PP/Toine/Kenny A/ERIC Williams/Batman/Joe Forte wearing scooby doo shirts/Erick Strickland/Rodney Rodgers/Tony Delk IT WAS AWSOME, I had such a fun time that season!!!

-The Antoine trade I couldnt believe what less than a month you trade away my favorite player, come on Danny! I remember exactly where I was when I heard he was traded lol

-Ricky Davis, ok ok so he mightve not been the best but he always played hard and I loved watching him, especially when we sucked lol

-Gerald Green I remember when we drafted him I was like in 3 years he will be T-Mac, its been 3 years...

-Big Al who was my fav player and still is my fav player off the C's

-The Ping Pong balls you all know what I mean thank god we didnt get #1 or 2!

-The KG trade even with Big Al as my fav player I could care less WE GOT KG!!!! I remember the rumors driving to work (it was raining) then atlunch ordering my mini season plan on a patio deck then going home and calling everyone I know, such a fun time!!!

-The first big 3 game vs the Wiz we knew we were good!

-All the game 7's almost giving me heart attacks and then banner 17!!! I was actually @ the Garden for every home playoff/finals game, so tiring/exhausting with work and school but sooooo fun!!!

-The parade, I almost didnt go but Im glad I did!!!

-Still being a contender going into 2010!!!

Yo guys put up a banner that say's 18-1? After losing the Super Bowl?

That's kind of embarrassing imo. lol

Let me break it down slower for you. The regular season is 16 games long, we won each of those games thus we were undefeated during the regular season. The playoffs are the games that proceed the regular season.
