Boozer on his way to Cavs????

Post#1 » by heathmalc » Mon Jan 4, 2010 8:13 pm

Was listening to ESPN Chicago this morning and Utah GM Conner said he has spoken to the Houston, Clippers, Denver and Cleveland about a possible trade that would include Boozer and possibly a couple other players. He then went on to say that he believed he was pretty close to a deal, and that a trade could be made within the next 48 hours. He wouldn't respond when asked what team he may have a deal finalized with, but since we were mentioned as one of the teams he'd spoke with; it gives us some hope. But if we did do a deal; who else would be included, and what would be the price tag???

EDIT: RealGM has added the Conner story to it's wire-tap!

The best deal we would offer would be Z and JJ and a pick for Boozer... They don't have any contracts we could take on, unless we used Shaq and took on AK-47 in addition to Boozer.

Our main asset is our ability to add salary and I don't think there is a whole lot we can do for the Jazz unless we do decide to move Shaq.

A Shaq deal would be Shaq and JJ and Coby Karl/Jawad Williams for Boozer and AK-47. Would Utah be willing to buy out Shaq? I dunno... That deal saves the Jazz around 7 mil this season and like 17 mil next season.

Or a S&T with Wally. If Shaq is bought out there is no guarantee he returns here.

But I don't believe heath anyway. The Clips clearly want Boozer when 1) they aren't going anywhere this year and 2) they have Blake   The Nuggets would certainly be able to help Utah with their salary concerns as well! Two TOTALLY realistic options from teams that would obviously be interested in Boozer, amirite?

And even if heath is telling the truth(lol), Windy has suggested the possibility of a minor move via his twitter. Boozer coming to Cleveland isn't exactly "minor."

edit: also I bet the deal Utah is considering is really minor anyway. So yeah, heath is probably full of **** like usual.

There is a trade thread. If this was anything other than a rumor I'd make an exception. However, this is a rumor and therefore should go into the trade thread. if you continue to open new threads for these rumors I will have to give you a warning.
