Official Bucs Off season thread ....

Post#1 » by Nemesis21 » Tue Jan 5, 2010 12:29 am

Well, I knew it would be a disappointing season. Bucs went through 2 QBs before Freeman, went through 3 kickers, fired OC 10 days before start of season. Fired DC half way through the sesaon. Won 2 of last 3 games that put us out of race for DT Ndamkong Suh

I still think Morris should be fired, I see no reason for him to stay HC. The Bucs should have left him as DC and brought in a coach.

There's been rumors that Cowher will and won't coach in 2010. My personal preference's for HC

1. Cowher
2. Shanahan (going to Redskins)
3. Billick
4. Lovie Smith( if fired)

What makes Bucs attractive for a new HC,

Warm weather team, fairly young team, appears to have found its franchise QB, has 5 picks in first 99 picks in the draft.

Players need to be re -signed;
Antonio Bryant(wants to stay, if not re-signed I'd try to trade for Boldin)
Barrett Ruud(wants to stay)
Cadillac Williams(wants to stay)
Donald Penn

Personally I'd sign them all. I'd let Trueblood leave.

Bucs have money to spend and need DE and CB help Vet QB, could fix all in FA.

I'd go hard after CB Dunta Robinson and DE Adewale Ogunleye(Bears have Alex Brown, Mark Anderson, and just traded for Gaines Adams. They may not re-sign Ogunleye) Sign Chad Pennington for vet QB

My Bucs mock;

3rd pick - S Eric Berry
35th pick- WR Arrelious Benn
42nd pick- OT Ciron Black (replace Trueblood at RT)
67th pick - DE Corey Wooten
98th pick- LB- Perry Riely
153th pick- FB- Stanley Havili
162nd pick- OG- Brandon Carter
196th pick- P - Zoltan Mesko

New Bucs defense depth;

RDE Stylez White, Jimmy Wilkerson, Kyle Moore
LDE Adewale Ogunleye, Tim Crowder, Corey Wooten
LDT Roy Miller, Ryan Sims
RDT Dre Moore, Chris Hovan

WLB Geno Hayes, Perry Riely
MLB Barrett Ruud, Niko Koutouvides
SLB Quincy Black, Adam Heyward

CB Aqib Talib, Elbert Mack
CB Dunta Robinson, EJ Biggers
SS Eric Berry, Sabby Piscitelli
FS Tanard Jackson, Corey Lynch

K- Connor Barth
P- Zoltan Mesko
KR- Michael Spurlock

New Bucs offense depth;

QB Josh Freeman, Chad Pennington, Josh Johnson
RB Cadillac Williams, Derrick Ward, Clifton Smith(also punt returner)
FB Ernest Graham, Stanley Havili
LT Donald Penn, James Lee
LG Aaron Sears, Jeremy Zuttah
C Jeff Faine
RG Davin Joesph, Brandon Carter
RT Ciron Black, Demar Dotson
TE Kellen Winslow, Jeremy Stevens, John Gilmore
WR Antonio Bryant or Anquan Boldin, Arrelious Benn, Sammie Stroughter, Maurice Stovall, Michael Clayton, Mario Urrutia

That's a nice wishlist......and a lot of it could actually be done (IF the Glazers decide to participate in the NFL).

The bad news is Morris is likely to return.

This is a franchise that can't really afford a 3-5 year rebuilding mistake......or they'll be drawing crowds of 35K again in a heartbeat.

Of course that was just my opinion of what I'd like to see.

Not sure who would cost more Antonio Bryant or Anquan Boldin ? The Cards will try to trade Boldin during the off-season. What about the Bucs trading for him, offer a 2010 2nd rd pick(42nd overall) and a 2011 3rd or 4th rd pick ?

Then maybe sign Chambers or B Wade to a one yr deal. Don't know why Bucs gave Clayton a contract and Stovall really isn't anything great. Would have Boldin and Chambers/or Wade on the outside and Stroughter in the slot.
Or draft a WR in 2nd rd, like LaFell. Boldin and LaFell on outside, Stroughter in the slot.

Boldin would be an improvement over Bryant.

I know that, just didn't know who would be cheaper. Would those picks I mentioned be enough to get Boldin ?
