The Bears' offense has been nearly as anemic as the 49ers this year. This game is about shutting their offense down, putting just enough points on the board, and exacting our revenge on them for our previous drubbing in Chicago.

Actually, it hasn't been close to as bad as the last ranked 9ers offense, we've averaged about 80 yards and 6.3 points per game more. The pass offense has been inconsistent, but decent, ranked 14th. However the running game is just terrible, ranked 30th, and has been the result of a combination of a poor offensive line and a struggling RB.

Grossman will start, and you guys won't kick to Hester, I think.

Seahawks should win, but I'm hoping the Bears can pull something our of their rears like they did vs GB and Philly.

I actually think, in spite of the poor start, that we're soon going to take real control of this game. Our offense is healthy now, and it's clicking. Our defense will soon get TRex under control, in their grasp.

I don't care if I don't see Alexander one more time this season. I have no illusions of Morris being anything more than an average back, but at least he hits the frigging hole fast and hard. I got soooo sick of Shaun's hesitation, and attempts at cutting back that ended in no gains or losses of yardage.

This is slightly OT, but who saw the CBS halftime show where Bill Cowher discussed that crazy field goal by Cleveland's Phil Dawson? Cowher mentioned that he talked to Mike Pereira, the NFL's head of officiating, after the game, and Pereira confirmed that the call was correct. Did that hit a nerve with anyone? Cowher is probably one of six or seven people alive who honestly don't realize that Pereira's post-game spin on officiating is 100% horse manure. (The refs happened to make the right call in the Cleveland game, but to hear that Pereira's stamp of approval made it so, and to hear it coming out of that ugly mouth of Bill Cowher, just killed me.)

That was a bit bizaare to me. Here you had the last two NFC Super Bowl teams going at it, the Bears in a must win situation, and the Seahawks looking for revenge from last year. It had much better makings for an interesting game. Who didn't know that the Pats were going to smother the Bills?

By the way, where's TheUrbanZealot? I don't have a problem with criticism of the team, but you have to be prepared to give credit where it's due as well.

Yeah, I was alluding to that with the post where I went out of my way to give credit to Holmgren since, you know, pretty much every play call worked, or Hass audibled to something (as part of Holmgren's system) that worked.

The team's made adjustments and looked very good offensively the last two weeks. The only concern I had today was with the pass blocking as Hass took some hits, but the pass blocking has been very good all year and for all the Bears' problems their front four isn't one of them.

BTW...how much fun was it watching Kerney get on a tear at the end there and getting to Grossman on nearly every play? Holy cow...he's a monster when he beats his man. When Peterson or Kerney get in the backfield, I don't expect a sack...I expect a fumble and genuine fear for the safety of the quarterback.

Once again, a great game by Hass. I don't even feel the need to rub this game in the face of TheUrbanZealot. Hasselbeck's resume speaks for itself. If you're not on his side by now, you're never going to be.

At any rate, the most encouraging thing to me about this game was Kerney's play. I don't know what it is about switching sides, but he's playing his ass off right now. Hell, he did more today than Wistrom managed to accomplish in an entire season.

And I owe Hackett an aplogy. I didn't write him off, but I forgot what a dynamic WR he is after he went down in week one. Once Branch gets up to speed, our passing game is really going to take off.
