Gomes and Blount + better of Jazz or Bobcats pick. For Perkins, Scalabrine and Walker
We trade Gomes to free up a some Cap Space. Trade out expiring Blount for Scal and Trade the 1st rounder for Perkins and Walker.
This is a good deal for us because we get a reliable 3rd big man that can score, rebound and play good defense. And we also get a look at Walker who has potential. And i dont believe it kills us for signing free agents even though he would be a nice pickup if we have a free agent.
The first round pick will need to be thrown in because Perkins is ranked pretty high in Boston as there Center.
What do you guys think? You like the deal if it were to happen? We dont give enough? Give enough?
Whatcha think? Still new on trades.

The Celtics aren't trading Perkins. At least not during the season.

I tried something a few weeks ago, they really really love Perkins, more than KG in many ways

Re: MN/Bos
Perkins will be a FA in 2011 at the age of 27.
In 2011...
Kevin Garnett will be 35
Rasheed Wallace will be 37
Paul Pierce will be 34 (FA in 2011)
Ray Allen will be 36 (FA in 2010)
Rajon Rondo will be 25
Jefferson will be 27
Kevin Love will be 23
Jonny Flynn will be 22
Ricky Rubio will be 21
Wall/Turner/Favors/Aldrich will all be 23 or younger

Re: MN/Bos
Boston fans claim they wouldn't trade Perkins for Chris Paul. I really want to call him Glen, though.

Re: MN/Bos
Makes no sense for Boston. Why would Boston trade their young starting center for a back up SF and a mid-late first round pick. That would almost kill Bostons chances of making another title run this year and it would hurt them in the future too.

Re: MN/Bos
Perkin's is the best player in that deal, and I don't think Bos want's to fix a team that isn't broken (haha, I know that half their star players are injured right now, but I still wouldn't consider them a broken team yet).

Makes no sense for either team (no offense OP). Boston is win now, we aren't. However, Perkins is unrestricted in 2011. Would Kendrick Perkins (I keep typing Glen too) jump ship? I would say it's very possible as the entire Celtics team in 2011 will need ramps just to get on the plane.

Re: MN/Bos
Perkins is a better center than Al.
Al is a better PF than Love.
But Boston would never do this.

I'll stick with the Gomes for Tony Allen (exp) + Bill Walker + 2011 BOS 1st.
I like the cap space, and a couple of prospects.

Is there a way to make a pick so the team you're sending it to has the option to delay it a year? I know the team sending it can do it, but I've never heard of it the other way around. Just wondering because having that late pick this year could be useful if neither of Utah (looks like they're falling apart) and Charlotte (some of their competition is starting to put it together) gives the team their picks.

Re: MN/Bos
Walker and a low first round pick don't excite me too much. I think I'd actually keep Gomes over that combo, we at least know how he fits into the puzzle, and isn't Walker due for a new contract soon or are the next copule still team options on rookie scale??

Sure, they could write that into the trade agreement. It'd probably be a scenario like the Wolves have this year, where they have 3 picks that may or may not be due to them this year for that to happen though.

I think so, for two reasons.
First, when it comes to picks, there are very few rules on the conditions that owners can apply. One look at the full wording on our UTA pick, and its connection with the NYK pick, makes that abundantly clear.
Second, I believe I've seen it done with a second round pick, but I can't remember the specifics. Anyone remember seeing this?
An option on the BOS pick to take it a year earlier would be nice insurance. Most likely the 2011 is a better pick, and one that fits us better, but the scenario you propose, where we don't get the UTA or CHA pick, has one other corollary. What if, after the season, but before the draft, we were offered a superstar for our lottery pick. The Stepien Rule would prevent us from making that trade, since we might owe LAC our pick in 2011. Owning the BOS pick would free up our pick for trade, because we wouldn't face two upcoming drafts without a 1st rounder.
