I knew it! I had a feeling he would get bought out. No reason for NJ to keep him. We should definitely go after him. Not sure Eddie would like it or Rondo for that matter (remember Rondo and Rafer going at it?), but we sure could use him.

hes better running the point then eddie, and much better than lue would be...

he and rondo's on court issues were small, and would be quickly forgotten if they were on the same team IMO

i think Miami will probably go for, and get him.. or another team lacking a real starting point guard and needs a stop gap

but i would be all for picking him up, without knowing what else is going to be available

I would love to have Alston on the C's. He played pretty well against us when he was with Orlando. I'm sure him and Eddie can patch things up.

It all depends on whether or not he can get a starting spot somewhere (Miami???). But if he can't then we should have a legit chance at him.

meh, not a big fan. let him skip to someone else's loo.

i think we're fine with what we got in terms of backup PG.

Why would you all cap and put 3 exclamation points after "Rafer Alston bought out?" He's trash.

Well, Eddie and Marbury became friends despite having beef in the pre-season. And that turned out all the better for Eddie since he developed a nice chemistry with Marbury, who would regularly find him for wide open 3s. Alston might be able to do the same. I'm guessing the Lakers might make a run at him too, seeing as how they're starting a 72 year old flopper, and have Mr. Peepers coming off the bench.

early last year he singlehandedly destroyed the rockets chemistry and caused rifts in the team

on a team that boasts artest and mcgrady its a pretty amazing that he was the guy the team couldnt stand

he's a headcase i think he would cause more problems than solutions

the myth is that we need a great backup point guard, we dont, we simply need someone solid who can adequately fill in for rondo, dribble the ball up the court effectively, and get our second team into its offense, it would be helpful if our backup could shoot 3s to spread the floor, and was big to help eddie on D, but none of these are really premiums

at the end of the day i would much rather have a team oriented unknown guy coming in and playing hard rather than signing a big(er) name to please crowds

id go as far to say that their are guys who arent playing on mediocre teams that i think could be the prototypical backup point guard for us, and fit better on this team than skip to my lou

id much rather have chris quinn or travis denier backing up rondo than raefer

the thing with these buy out guys is that we want to get them in as early as possible to learn the system and get some real time with the team before the playoffs.. another reason that this could really be an option

Hahaha, seriously, there was a great youtube clip of this kid breaking down his erratic play and how it confused and broke down his team's schemes. Eddie House may not be a better dribbler, but he works with the picks and looks his team gives him. Rafer thinks about himself, and and everything else is an obstacle, including his teammates.

Alston is going to sign in Miami. Miami will trade Chris Quinn to NJ for a 2nd to clear a roster spot.

Read it somewhere

Just get Rafer and Eddie in a cage match. Whoever comes out alive gets the backup PG gig.

You don't not get someone because Eddie House has problems with the person. I'm all for getting Rafer. He'd be a great packup PG for our team.

He kind of sucks and I think this is a prearranged deal with him going to Miami.

The issue isn't getting the guy in here to learn the system the issue is getting someone in here who doesn't suck. Sam I am and Marbury played exactly zero games for anyone else after their run here they were toast, which Rafer probably is as well. We need someone who doesn't smell like burnt oil with smoke everywhere when you start them up.
