Brady Quinn
Lets say Cle decides to keep Drew Brees and trade Rivers..um, I mean keep Derek Anderson.
Would Clev be willing to deal Brady Quinn for a 1st rd pick. Lets say we finish in the 5-12 range. Quinn is a better prospect than any of the QB's this year. If Jackson doesnt show anything could we offer Clev our 1st rd pick this year and get Quinn.
Would you want to do this?

let me answer your question with another question. Would you trade a 1st at 5-12 for Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay. IMO, he would be the better of the two because he's had a chance to learn behind the man, the myth, the legend known as Brett Favre. Both QB's were highly succesful, both dropped, yadda yadda yadda. Quinn never took over a game when it counted, etc. P.S. Quinn got paid well for being #22, I don't want to over pay for something uncertain.
Besides the comparisons, the draft is a long ways away, and there are good QB's out there. They always improve draft stock through workouts or playing big in championship games and bowl games...and all of a sudden someone like Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm could be a top 10 pick.
Lastly, IF Childress is still here, most expect him to go after Donovan McNabb hard. Even the analysts from ESPN are "expecting" Minny to nab McNabb. Honestly, the Vikes need to get someone else AND draft another QB. I would love to see Dennis Dixon as a Vike!

"Dude, all I am saying is we already have a starting RB, his name is Chester Taylor. Besides AP isn't that good anyways. I hope we draft McFadden." --Me after he broke the record.

Quin is is a better prospect than Rodgers. Quinn is also a better prospect than any of the QB's in this years draft. Including Ryan, Brohm and Woodson.
Dixon is a nice prospect. but we need the legit big-deal. and I think Quinn is that guy.

I think it would be a good deal for both teams. Cle wants to keep going with Derek Anderson so they move Brady when they can still get a 1st.
Im just looking for options. What else do you see? Alex Smith for a 5th rd?

No one is onboard with the Donvan McNabb express. No quarterback has done more with less over the years and I think this Vikes team on D, with AP and a solid O Line is better than most of those Eagles teams, they just need a sold QB. Other options though.
Veterans...maybe a Billy Vokek or a Kerry Collins or a Mark Brunell as a backup. Take a QB like Dixon in the 2nd or 3rd round and let TJ, Dixon, and the vet battle to see who is the starter.

Quinnis better than any of the QB's this year. That is really not a point being argued.
Jboogs. I think that would be wrong. We need to get a very good QB. Volek and Collins are not the kind of guy we need. Taking another project like Dixon is not the right idea either. We need a top-notch guy.

Quinn would be the #1 QB in this draft, though some scouts might prefer Brian Brohm. It's a pretty thin year for QBs--pretty much all of the top ones have very visible warts and detractions.
I sent a PM to a guy that works in the scouting arena. (Icness) that is what he said

Wow, this year is to me one of the strongest QB drafts in a while....I think Matt Ryan is the best of the four...but I think Woodson, Brohm and Brennan (in that order) all have a good amount of potential...
If Brady Quinn was so good then how come he fell so far?...I don't think Quinn is that special...

The asking price will be greater than just a 1st--they'll demand what they would get for tagging Anderson, a 1st and a 3rd.
I do agree with the sentiment that Quinn is more likely to depart Cleveland than Anderson, but the Browns are really going to have to be blown away to give up either guy.
FWIW--I have good reason to believe the Vikings are going to chase a different QB this offseason: Donovan McNabb. He'll come cheaper too, in terms of cost to get him anyways.
I also know the Vikings are pretty high on Tennessee QB Erik Ainge, who has an ugly injury file but otherwise would be no worse than the #3 QB in this draft. And he will probably be obtainable with their 3rd rounder.
He's Danny Ainge's nephew. 6'6", 225ish, had some mobility but he's had 4 knee operations in the last 3 years and is pretty stationary now. Great arm, very accurate on medium throws and has zip on his deep ball. They run a lot of no-huddle and shotgun-with-2 backs sets. Gets rid of the ball quickly, almost too quickly, like he's afraid to get hit at times. He had what's basically a mental breakdown a couple of years ago and lost all consistentcy and his starting job, but he seems to be over that. He's got a lot of Derek Anderson in him, that kind of potential if you put him behind a good OL.

I still disagree with this. There were alot of people down on Quinn before last year's draft. There is a reason he went 22nd. I don't see what separates him from Woodson, Brohm or Ryan.

I found this post from Icness. It's from October 13, 2006
Brian Brohm's next month is huge. If he comes back and shows no ill effects from the thumb surgery or knee problems, he vaults himself way up the draft board, perhaps all the way to #1. If he had no injury questions he would be the #1 pick and there really wouldn't be much debate about it, not even Brady Quinn.

WOWOWOW Donovan McNabb is an amazing QB...I put him in the top 5 QBs in the league when healthy...
Rev where did u get that quote from?
If we got McNabb then we could draft Deshaun Jackson woo!...This has me very excited...I also heard some speculation that the Bears would go after McNabb, man that'd be a scary team if they got him...

OK top 5 might be a bit much
These four are clearly the cream:
Brady
Manning
Brees
Palmer
These four could all be vying for that 5th spot:
Favre
Romo
McNabb
Roethlisberger
Either way McNabb is prolly my second fav of the bunch...after Roethlisberger, he's just so fun to watch...Big Ben is like a Tony Romo but bigger and smarter...
