J.R. will be traded in January ;)

Post#1 » by SnakefromHell » Fri Jan 1, 2010 1:01 pm

Imo... quote me on this...

The losing is gonna keep coming so the management (not wanting to lose the coach) will ask Karl who is the goat and Karl will point at J.R. and Karl is gonna say he will need someone to help rebounding and a point guard and J.R. being our most valuable tradeable chip his trade is gonna bring in quality players Karl asks for, he's gonna be traded.

Quote me on this...

For who? They have a pg in Lawson and a rebounder in Birdman. They just need to get more from the PF/C spot. Nene has not improved like I think the FO wanted him to.

I doubt it. Unless he gets on an extreme hot streak, his value around the league just isn't as high as it is to us. And given that his contract is extremely favorable, it'd be pretty stupid to trade him just to trade him.

Sure, if we could get a good deal for him, no doubt. But I just really don't see that happening right now.

Suggested faster than one of JR's bad shots lately.

I'd say we need to see how the next week plays out.

Think about it... we want to be better than the last season's team version when we went to WCF...

So far we don't measure up to that, something has gotta change and give... I can't see the team staying put knowing this team is no better than last year when the organization wants it to be better than last year.

You're right. Certain players playing at 33% does not make the same team we had last season. Even AC had more frequent big moments.

I always attribute this to enthusiasm when you can't look at the final picture just yet (what we'll see in April). All these teams beating us want to beat this team. It's like a rematch with the champ....all have something to prove and if we want to be a champ team we need to respond like a champ.

Weak responses to any team we can beat will not bode well.

Individually, it appears when challenged our guys are wanting to carry this team but you can't do it individually. This team, playing as a team, is very very dangerous. They ain't playing as a team all game every game.

Hope J.R pulls his head out of his asss soon! Otherwise it is gonna be big waste unless we land valued player in return.

Next couple games are quite challenging ones or should i say all the games are challenging to our team anyway? Next week will be interesting.....

Sick of losing lately. Let's hope new year will bring in different attitude for our team.

Buy/ Sell: J.R. will be traded by second week of this month.

I buy.

I badly want DeAndre Jordan... man that kid is a monster he's massive and his arms are so long. J.R. for DeAndre and Eric Gordon.

your trade doesn't add up salary wise to make a legal trade, but if we add Blake Griffin and Malik Allen it works perfect:

Denver Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: +3.7 ppg, +2.0 rpg, and +0.7 apg.
Incoming Players
Blake Griffin
6-10 from Oklahoma
No games yet played in 2009-2010
Eric Gordon
6-3 SG from Indiana
17.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 3.0 apg in 36.2 minutes
DeAndre Jordan
6-11 C from Texas A&M
3.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.1 apg in 10.4 minutes
Outgoing Players
J.R. Smith
6-6 SG from St. Benedict's Prep (HS)
15.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.2 apg in 27.3 minutes
Malik Allen
6-10 PF from Villanova
1.3 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 4.8 minutes

America, **** yea!

JR Smith for Blake Griffin AND Eric Gordon? That's stupid. Your trade doesn't add up talent wise. Why don't you trade JR for Kobe instead?

Kobe makes to much and Denver would have to get more talent in a deal involving JR for just Kobe, the Lakers would have to throw in another player or two, which makes the trade even more lopsided when it comes to salaries. Maybe the two teams could work something out after Kobe's contract expires via a sign and trade.

The only way I can see the nuggets trading JR is for a big man in a trade involving him and say Nene for a type of player like Brook Lopez...This provides a young center that is making a name for himself already....Even that seems like a shot in the dark considering salaries, but some package could be made.

On wiretap, Memphis is said to be looking for an offensive firepower for their second unit. That sounds like J.R. to me.

Isn't this a sign??? Marc Gasol to Nuggets!!! :D :D

Problem is Memphis doesn't want that player to have contract beyond this season... but I think they will really consider J.R.

J.R. for Gasol and Sam Young. BE and DO!!!

To be honest if we do this to KMart and he complains, we should Marbury him (aka what the Knicks did to Marbury).

Just because there's a prospect of KMart grumbling coming off the bench, doesn't mean it should deter us from acquiring a big as good as Gasol. Gasol is about 100x the player KMart is now... sure KMart is a quarterback of our defense blah blah, but what good is good defense when we can't get a rebound after stops?

The man should know if Gasol comes in, he is to the bench. He's not that "important" to think he deserves to start over Nene or Gasol. Continue to bicker and be a detriment, we should buy him out. He got to realize he's been overpaid since 2004 and be grateful.

But on the other hand, if KMart is cooperative and accepts his bench role 100%, we imo should be the best team in basketball. No question about it. Our bench would be so solid it would be sick. If Karl was a genius, he'd continue to start Lawson even when Billups comes back because I believe when he pushes Lawson to be aggressive, that's where he maximises his production, and Billups can still play starter minutes off the bench anyway, but most importantly, he'd be that scoring off the bench with J.R. gone... and we'd be tremendous defensively and offensively.

**** the Lakers! Imagine the blockbuster everytime Nuggets-Lakers game... :D Marc Gasol acquired by Denver for Nuggets' hope to get over the hump and trounce his brother's team... that would be another good drama.

I agree with that trade as well and find your output on kmart worthwhile. We can't avoid any players in fear of how another one will react and should bench him/release him if he does start complaining on the bench. On the other hand, I don't feel like starting Lawson would maximize his profit because Lawson is not close to billups skill. (Yet atleast :D ) Picking up Gasol in a trade would easily make us the favorite in the West!

Trading Jr for Gasol would not make Denver the favorites in the west. That trade would result in at least 30 minutes of AC every game.

What good is allowing the other team to score and not having a chance at a rebound?

You should also pay attention to the team you follow. Kmart has been averaging about the same amount of rebounds Gasol has the last month.

^WTF? Your reasonings stink.

Who starts when Billups out? Carter? I don't think so. Yes, Karl still has love for his AC but when Billups comes back there's no chance he gets ahead of Lawson in the rotation. We still have Afflalo and word is Morris Almond might get a call up from us... not that I'm counting on a Morris Almond but that should say something... something is gonna happen involving the SG spot.

KMart becoming a stud in rebounding in a stretch of 6-8 games doesn't compare to Gasol's season long double digit rebounding rate. KMart has averaged only 7-8 rpg in his career... Gasol was averaging what the veteran averages for his career last year as a rookie. Not bad for a second year player.

The dumbestestest reason I've heard so far... so you're going to choose the option of playing mad defense and not being able to corral a rebound? That's as stupid a reason I've heard... if you were a coach, you tell any basketball team to play hard defense but they can't get a rebound, you're going to be tuned out in no time. That's telling a group of grown ups to bust their asses for nothing... to work hard, to run and close out at open shooters, to fight picks, to learn a system for nothing... when you can't secure a rebound. You play 24 seconds of great defense but it's **** if you can't get a rebound. You're only wearing the guys out... why don't you tell them to run suicide until they puke their lunch? **** I hope you go along with J.R. to wherever he goes when he's traded.
