LA Lakers are listening to offers for Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom. Willing to take on contracts in the right deal.

I have a trade I need approving. Do I post it here or will there be a separate topic?

Thanks

Some people have said my e-mails are going to their SPAM, so make sure you check there. I changed the name under my account, but for some reason it didn't go into affect.

Commish will start a trades thread as soon as trades can be announced, I think he is waiting for a few more GM's to post a roster

Damn, I wanted to make the first trade!

If that didn't work and you want to be sure your fellow GMs are getting your emails...

Sign up for a new email account just for this game and don't put anything silly as your name like "Hello You".

Does anyone think we're moving way too fast here?

We didn't discuss rules at all.

well the rules havent changed much form the others games...basically the same thing.

veto requests are sent to me
use shamsports for salaries
trades will be approved after 24 hours
you can only trade players that you have acquired after that trade has been approved.
etc...

is there any you wish to discuss so we can get the game rolling?

What about the draft? Free Agency? (Whatever else I'm missing)

I know they are a ways away, but I'd rather try to get them done now and not have to worry about it later.

Edit: Nvm about FA's- just remember what you said. Also, what about extensions? We had some crazy rules with them last game, IIRC. (Though it might have been FA's.)

extensions will be how they are in RL same as all FA. However, I am thinking about limiting players that are signed to the FULL MLE to not being traded at all after FA period. I believe the rule last time was a week and all FAs were BYC. wont be BYC this time, but I think if you use the MLE on a player you should have to keep him.

we will see what people think of that....if they dont like it then I will just let everyone be available for trade. But it will make you use your MLE more wisely imho.

Ok, my main problems were making guys BYC that shouldn't have been and continuing to reset the week wait after players signed their contracts. (I think it's 48 hours normally- which is what it should go if the player is traded after the week of waiting.)

I am not having a waiting period.

last game i think it was 12 hours for trade approval? and then 48 hours before u can trade them. I am having 24 hours for approval and then you can trade the players again. Its horrible when someone offers you a nice trade for someone you have just obtained but you have to wait 2 days to make the trade.

and

trades thread is up now

Mascot wrote:It all depends on the player really. If they have a History of being injured than people look at them with less value when they are injured. If they are not regularly injured then usually their value does not drop much. With that being said, I know last game injuries were not looked at so much as previous games and most players were valued as if they were healthy.

It would be nice to have a judgment on this issue. In the last game I was in, Yao got injured and the vast differences in beleif about his value became somewhat of a problem. Because judging occured after three in-game seasons had passed, we could assume that he was at least fairly healthy when judging, even though he's out for the year.

Seven of my top nine rotation players are injured. If injuries are counted, my best strategy is to hang on to the players that will miss significant time because their value is nil for this single year. If they are considered at least able to contribute, they could fetch a more fair return on their true value.

Of course I would prefer that injured players be counted able to contribute because it completely changes the complexion of the game for me.

One compromise would be to simply consider certain players injury-proneness but not give them zero value by saying that they won't play this year. IMO this makes the game more fun for several GMs as players like Garnett, Yao, Granger and Oden, as well as guys like Wright, Azubuike and Arthur could be used more effectively in this game. I think it would simply make the game more fun.
