Cavaliers’ Moon to miss 3 weeks
7 hours, 32 minutes ago
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP)—Cleveland’s Jamario Moon(notes) is expected to miss at least three weeks with a left abdominal strain.
Moon, signed as a free agent last summer from Miami, is averaging 5 points and 3.5 rebounds as a reserve for the Cavaliers.
Coach Mike Brown said Moon could likely play through the injury, but the team is being cautious. Brown wouldn’t even let Moon shoot free throws at the end of Tuesday’s practice.
“We’ll shut him completely down for about 10 days and then re-evaluate it,” Brown said. “He probably could play, he definitely could shoot. We just don’t want it to flare up during the latter part of the season.”
The latest injury is unrelated to the right abdominal strain Moon suffered earlier this season, the team said.
Moon’s injury could mean more playing time for Daniel Gibson(notes), who has been in and out of the rotation this season.
Cleveland (27-9) hosts Washington (10-21) on Wednesday.

Hope he recovers quickly, but it will be kind of nice to see some other guys get a little PT. I feel bad for Boobie that he is shooting lights out and not getting to play much. Wonder if Danny Green will get to play?

I hope Danny Green gets to play... especially given the teams we are going up against.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Just hoping Moon can get healthy and stay healthy. The nagging injuries have been going on all year for him.

I think they play some small ball and get creative with the rotations. I honestly think Brown will refuse to play Danny Green. I could see Gib to be the first off the bench with AV to replace AP and JJ. AP then gets more burn at the 3 when LB comes out at the end of the 1st QTR

In reality, I see Brown increasing West's minutes to 35+, and hoping for extended scrub time.

I'm fine with Delonte playing more. He should be playing 35 mins a game anyways.

PIcked up West for my fantasy team, so that would be nice...

Jawad who? The last thing I thought we would see was Jawad getting ~20mpg in Moon's absence.
