Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
We can never be above or below the limit at any time?
That seems dumb, and definitely different than previous games, where there was just a particular deadline by which all teams had to be within the limit.

I have to agree. I think that as long as we get above 11/below 15 by the time judging roles around, it would be fine.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
Actually it is usually only the 1st week or so that the roster limits are not enforced and then a deadline where all teams have to get their rosters between 12-15. At that point the regular season kicks in and ALL teams must be within the 12-15 man limit before/after making trades. THEN once the offseason/FA period rolls around teams can do as they wish for a bit before it is time for posting writeups. At that point all rosters need to be back within the limits of 12-15.
That is how we usually do it and it fits within the concept of a NBA season.

during the offseason we have no limits. We are acting like it is a month before the trade deadline and are following NBA roster rules and the CBA. Once the season ends, we have no limits (except for capholds) untill opening day

Interesting enough, in RL you have to have 13 players on a team (12 active/ at least 1 inactive). You are able to go to 12 for up to 2 weeks at a time and 16 with league approval. Personally I think we should have to have 13 on the roster, but we're able to go to 12 with trades as long as we sign a min guy immediately after. I think that best represents RL.

OKC incoming: 14.15
MIL outgoing: 10.45 (Bogut = 6.3 cause of BYC)
MIL incoming = 12.25
Milwaukee does this to get a young SG next to Jennings. It hurts losing our defensive anchor, but we have a bunch of centers anyway, and we get a pick and take a flyer on Mullens
OKC accepts needed a center that could score in the post.
same problem again, OKC would have 16 players. Also if you could put full salaries there it would be great instead of 3.7 etc.
James Harden $4,004,160
Nick Collison $6,250,000
Byron Mullens $1,120,200
Kyle Weaver $870,968
12245328
Andrew Bogut $10,000,000
Carlos Delfino $3,500,000
Jodie Meeks $650,000
14150000
IF i had 15 before the trade and i send out 4 and get back 3 doesn't that leave me at 14?

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
The Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Hornets have reached and agreement.
Derek Fisher/Jordan Farmar/Didier Mbenga/Josh Powell/Memphis 2010 2nd
for
Emeka Okafor
$5,048,000 + $1,947,240 + $959,111 + $959,111 = $8,913,462 x 1.25 + 100G = $11,241,828 > $10,797,500
We give up all our expiring contracts and a pick to get some front court depth. We also help New Orleans financially strapped team in the process by taking on this large contract.
LA accepts
NOH was going to waive Sean Marks/Bobby Brown/Ike Diogu who are all on minimum contracts. LAL was going to sign them but instead will accept them as a 2nd part of this deal with nothing going back to NOH in return as they are all min deals.
This keeps both our rosters within the required limits.

My bad with the number rounding, but OKC is giving 4 players and getting 3, and I'd have 15 after the trade, so I don't see what the problem is.

I still think we should get a week's worth of roster leeway before worrying about getting between 12-15.

it is mid season in the NBA, why would you get roster leeway?

LA also will sign 3 min contract players to get the roster back to 12. Check your email Mascot.
New Orleans accepts
Why? We like Okafor but his contract just isn't worth it. We also pick up a nice prospect in Farmer and potenially high 2nd round pick
I will also be waiving Sean Marks + Bobby Brown + Ike Diaguo

Phoenix Suns & Miami Heat have a trade to announce.
Phoenix Trades:
SF - Jared Dudley $1,307,640
Miami Trades:
C - Jamaal Magliore $825,497
SF - Yakhouba Diawara $945,000
2010 2nd Round Draft Pick
Phoenix does this trade to add a replacement Center to the roster who brings toughness and rebounds to the team. Dudley makes way for an incoming small forward in another trade, and the pick allows Phoenix to add some youth in the off-season.
Phoenix accepts

Miami accepts we really want to shake things up a figured this was a great start (plus are bored and tired of deals falling apart). Dudley is a nice talent and worth the extra money he will cost and a 2nd round pick

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
The Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks have a trade to announce.
Indiana Trades:
PG Travis Diener $1,740,000
PF Solomon Jones $1,620,000
PF Troy Murphy $11,047,619
Milwaukee Bucks Get:
SG Michael Redd $17,040,000
SG Kyle Weaver $870,968
This deal moves a plyaer in Troy Murphy who we feel is too much of a luxury for a player we feel are buying low on in Michael Redd, who will be a great fit next to Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert. The Pacers are also dealing Diener and Jones, who are third on their depth chart at their respective positions for a younger guard in Kyle Weaver.

Milwaukee accepts, we move Redd to make way for Harden, and save a bit of money while getting a big man who can pick and pop with Jennings. We also cut Fransisco Elson to make room.

In this deal, the Pacers moved a very good player in Dahntay Jones, but we will miss his production, but he was a luxury we couldn't afford. In this deal, we nab two young building blocks for our future.

OKC accepts because i felt we needed a better big man to put at center.
Trade Approved. After a little bit of a decision on Matt Harping. He is still an "active" player and did not retire even though he did not report to OKC. He still takes up a roster spot so Yes he is able to be traded. Also OKC is under the cap so the 125% rule is not invoked so the trade is legal.
