Where is Kadri

Post#1 » by xxPrimierxx » Fri Dec 4, 2009 3:17 pm

WHERE IN THE HELL IS KADRI!?
I have heard so much about him. When are the leafs recalling him from the marlies.
Why did they even send him there in the first place..?

He's not with the Marlies, he isn't eligible to play with them. He's playing in the OHL with the London Knights. He just finished playing for the OHL stars against Russia, and may make the team canada world junior team.

He's not physically ready to enter the NHL yet. Great talent, needs to pack on the mass now.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

I'm a firm supporter of letting prospects develop in the minors for years before bringing them up. As mentioned on a Leafs broadcast a couple weeks ago - No prospect's career has been hurt by spending time in the minors, while hundreds have been set back by coming up too early.

Look at guys like Bobby Ryan and James Van Riemsdyek for proof of patience developing prospects

In 25 games with London, he's got 16 goals, 15 assists, and 62 PIM. I was expecting a little more offensive output, but it's nice to see he's got a scrappy side.

Last checkpoint, he had 31 points in 25 games, well now he's got 38 points in 28 games (20 goals) as well as 62 PIM.

Turn TSN on this week, and you can watch him for yourself. He's on playing on the World Junior team.

I'm hearing mixed reviews, mostly negative about his play. I haven't seen all the games but from what I have seen in Kadri, he's turning the puck over a lot, making silly plays, and taking dumb penalties. Granted he plays on a line dominated by Hall but he's not much of a factor out there. I'm impressed with Pietrangelo.

I thought playing him with Hall was a bad decision. Both of these guys like to skate with the puck and it seems Kadri was almost always watching hall skate around with the puck, waiting with stick caulked and ready to shoot. If you replaced Hall with DelaRovere or Adam, i think the line would work better and you'd see more of what he can do.

Kadri was easily one of the more physical of the Canadians, IMO.

Kadri honestly prove he wasn't ready for the league in his NHL regular season debut, although he showed some great quickness, he turned the puck over a lot. But this kid could really become something, his stats at this point of the year (just look at the progression from my previous posts):

45 games
27 goals (career high)
48 assists
75 points
95 PIM

That means in his last 17 games, he's put up 37 points, for an average of 2.17 points a game. Ridiculous.

55 games, 33 goals, 57 assists, 90 points, 103 PIM, 1.64 PPG, 1.87 PIMPG

Kadri is now 4th in scoring in the OHL and 3rd in PPG.

Kadri is dominating with London in the playoffs so far, with 16 points in 6 games (leading the OHL), averaging 2.7 points a game. He's also got 18 PIMs. London beat Guelph in 5 games, and are up 1-0 on Kitchener (the two play today at 7:30 EST).

yea hes tearing it up right now, if he can put on 10-15 pounds this off season i think he can definitely make the Leafs next year, although a bit of time with the Marlies wouldnt hurt.

He's now got 25 points in 9 games (2.78 PPG), although Kitchener-London are tied 2-2 in their series. I really hope this kid can become a 1st line hockey player.

27 points in 12 games, and Kadri and the London Knights are done.

Return to Toronto Maple Leafs
