Turner to play tonight. Isn't that way ahead of schedule for his injury?

Wow, I'm glad I checked this......I'll have to turn in during the commercials of the Wolves game.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
That's way ahead of schedule for him isn't it? I hope he's not rushing it. The last thing he wants to do is literally become Grant Hill, both skillwise and injurywise.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
Aminu is definitely the better prospect out of him, James, Stephenson, and Harris; he has the potential and physical tools to be a stud NBA player, none of the other guys have that. And I'd take him for sure over any of the other 3.
Now the question is, if we have #7 and #20; do we go Aminu and maybe someone like Alabi/Sanders/Cousins at #20; or do we go Henry or Aldrich at #7 and someone like James/Stephenson at #20
-I'd probably end up passing on Aminu and picking one of the before mentioned guys with the Utah pick.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
If we're talking SF prospoects...
I'll take Aminu over James and Stephenson, but I'm higher on Harris, Robinson, and Ebanks. I like all those guys 8-12. Aminu I like more 12-18. Stephenson, Singler, Hayward, James, and George after that.
Regardless, very deep position this year and the Utah/Bobs picks are perfect to take whoever falls.

He was suspended for a semester for general attitude issues. Calhoun gave him some tough love. I don't think it's an issue anymore though.
"Robinson didn't do anything wrong. He didn't commit a crime, didn't injure or attempt to injure anyone else.
He is not academically ineligible.
So why isn't he playing? What earned him a five-month sentence of hard labor.
A desperate need, Calhoun says, to grow up.
"The only one being harmed was Stanley," Calhoun said. "I had a couple of players I asked to leave the program. I didn't want Stanley to leave. He's a really good kid with a heart of gold, but he had to get his life square. I saw signs, little things. He'd be late to study hall or late to practice. He wasn't always going to class. He just wasn't focused."
So at the end of the season, Calhoun called Robinson into his office and told the sophomore he was suspended for the first semester of his junior season. Calhoun gave him a choice: He could return home to Alabama -- maybe take a few courses there -- or he could stay in Connecticut. If he remained, however, he wouldn't be part of the team, would not be enrolled at the university and should, Calhoun suggested, find himself a job.
If he did everything Calhoun asked, Robinson would be allowed to join the team in December. "

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
I admit I'm warming to Harris. His toughness and hustle is something this team could definitely use and he's got enough potential, both physically and skill wise, to project as a starter and a decent player overall. He's not going to be a star, but if he's available with the Charlotte pick then it's a no brainer.
However if it's between him and Aminu I'd have to go Aminu. Aminu's potential is huge, as had been said, and he's got the same high motor and appears coachable that makes him more likely to reach his potential.

What about Singler with the Charlotte pick? He seems like the type of kid who might do well in the triangle...nothing spectacular, but a solid role player who we can count on on a nightly basis...Seems like a high floor kid...low ceiling though.

Elias Harris of Gonzaga I'm guessing. #15 on DX's new mock.

I'd aim higher with the Charlotte pick. A big like Alabi or Udoh, a wing like Robinson or Ebanks. Maybe be the team that gambles on Demarcus Cousins.

Did Stanley Robinson dramatically improve since last year? He doesn't seem like a guy who should be late lottery.

this injury might be the "bad for you, good for us" scenario that allows the Wolves the opportunity to have a shot at Evan Turner

He's 6'9", one of the better athletes in the draft, D's up, rebounds, and he's hitting 55.6% of his threes. When all's said and done he may not go as high as DX predicts him to right now, but it isn't too out of line with where he'll likely end up going.

I know he's got good size, he's a great athlete, and has an OK jumpshot. It just doesn't feel like he has a position offensively.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
Seems like a pretty clear cut SF to me. Spaces the floor and he's gotten better at creating his own offense this year.

Re: Officlal Prospect thread
Last year he didn't seem to create his own offense at all and only shot 3 pointers sparingly. It sounds like he's improved, or at least is showing a lot more.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
