Rondo. Pierce played ok, but he kept the ball in his hands and threw up an airball. Rondo was great, and also hit 7-8 from the line. Rondo is now shooting 59% from the line and is over 80% over his last 3 games.

You could throw a rock from that dive on Kneeland St that he got stabbed in and hit the ER of NE Medical Center. Playing up that heroic drive to the hospital was the best part of the Beyond the Glory piece on Pierce, lol.

Hey Cave

I hope that you are that close to an ER if you ever are bleeding out or have a pneumothorax. You die fast if you do not get care pretty **** fast.

I can't vote for a big man the way we got our asses handed to us on the glass. Went with Rondo for just dominating the OT, but how many bunnies did Miami miss down the stretch to keep us in striking distance? New year, same old JO.

It is so funny how the game turned around for most of it I wanted to slap Paul and Rondo and then they play terrific down the stretch and in OT. If I see one more lollipop over the shoulder no look pass or behind the back bounce pass to a 7' in trafffic one of these guys owes me a flat screen. I voted for Rondo because he was just great with the game on the line but it never should have been on the line.

Perk was great tonight and they need to go to that match up till it breaks. It might be time to sit down with Perk's agent and start talking extension.

nice play at the end by doc (and judging from today's comments it looked like he did NOT draw up the inbound play to ray, it was supposed to be something else), but rondo had to go make the play. plus rondo totally owned OT. and he made his FTs, and we needed every one.

overall, great game by rondo. others showed flashes but rondo was there the whole game. gotta give it to him.

Sheed was great, Perk was great, Ray hit two clutch threes at the end.

I don't think Pierce played all that well- given his usual play, certainly not close to getting the cigar from me- but its understandable since he's just getting his legs back. He did, however, provide leadership, and threw a spot-on perfect pass to Rondo.

Great coaching by Doc/Thib as well- double teaming Wade towards the end of regulation, attacking Chalmers on offense, and of course the last play call...

Love the mental toughness of the team, Pierce was a warrior out there.

bball Were you a fan after Paul had a great season back in 00-01 after suffering a pneumothorax and almost bleeding to death after he was stabbed a month before the season started? Or back in 05 or 06 when Amare knocked out his front teeth on a Wed, he has 12 hours of oral surgey on a Thurs, and then scores 30 points on a Friday? He is one tough **** with heart - aside from his elite talent.

Of course I was.

Pierce's toughness has always separated him from other players of similar (ie: the Vinces of the world). Anyone who watches him plays whether in the Phoenix game you mentioned, the Lakers game in 2008, or even yesterday can see his mentality- most players would settle for jumpshots and ease back into the game.

Paul's first two plays last night? Attacking the hoop, getting to the line. It's what makes him such a good player- he plays without fear.

Great game by Perk and Rondo, but with a quarter of the possesions ending in turnovers (team problem) the cig goes to Mr consistent, Perk. He makes JO look like a high schooler.

Return to Boston Celtics
