Because it makes the game more fluid and efficient if you don't have to sign some pointless player every time you make a trade that puts you under?
That, and the fact that we aren't actually playing games, the reason that rule exists in the actual league.

some of the reasoning behind the roster limit is to show salary.
if you have 5 guys only on your roster for 70 million then that means there should be another 7-8 million almost there in min contract guys as well to put you between 12 and 15 players.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced a trade:
Al Jefferson - 12,000,000
Brian Cardinal - 6,750,000
2011 MIN 2nd
Total: 18,750,000
to the Oklahoma City Thunder for
Jeff Green - 3,516,960
Brendan Haywood - 6,000,000
Etan Thomas - 7,906,088
2010 PHX 1st
2010 MIN 2nd returned
2011 OKC 1st
Total: 17,423,048 (*1.25=21,788,810)
While the Timberwolves hate to trade a guy like Jefferson, we like what we are getting in return. Not only do we save some longterm salary, but we also pick up a solid young wing prospect, a defensive anchor, and 2 first round picks, as well as getting our 2nd returned to us. We feel like the players we have will fit well into our system, and help to balance out our roster.

OKC accepts putting Jefferson next to Durant should help him a lot, easing the scoring on him. I hate giving up Green, Haywood and all of those picks but i really wanted to get Jefferson on this team.

Andrew Bynum/Lamar Odom/Adam Morrison/Shannon Brown
for

$12,500,000 + $7,500,000 + $5,257,229 + $1,990,000 = $27,247,229
$6,250,000 + $7,500,000 + $5,257,229 + $1,990,000 = $20,997,229 x 1.25 + 100g = $26,346,536 > $22,978,325
$16,378,325 + $6,600,000 = $22,978,325 x 1.25 + 100g = $28,822906 > $27,247,229
The math works with Bynum's BYC
LA is sad to lose our young big man but with Pau extended we felt getting a better compliment was important. Amare should work out great at PF next to Pau and not fight for the same floor space. Barbosa will also be inserted in to the starting lineup at PG and his ability to stretch the floor will come in handy. It hurts to lose Odom but it is a price we were willing to pay for filling out the starting unit. We will now be putting our efforts into extending Amare/Kobe and finding a backup PF/C.
Lakers accept this trade proposal.
Phoenix Accepts the trade proposal.
Losing Amar'e is painful, however I am not confident I could put the right pieces around him to make him stay. Acquiring Bynum gives a legitimate Center and someone who will potentially thrive with Nash feeding him the ball. Bynum will be more motivated as the number 1 option, allowing this team to make the steps required to reach the next level. Adding Odom complements Bynum well, he has the versatility to stretch the floor and perhaps makes Phoenix the best passing team with Nash, Hill & Odom in the lineup. Odom should also thrive in the uptempo system. Shannon Brown's arrival gives a 3rd string guard to work with, whilst Adam Morrison comes in as trade bait for teams looking to remove contracts from their roster.
Veto request on this trade, giving it an additional 6 hours, 30 in total to see if there are any more since the veto came in with 4 hours left before approval.

Veto? How come? Does someone feel it is imbalanced, and if so, in which direction?
LAL initiated this trade...

I will not say who, or what the veto was about, just that there was one.
If i get more with the same opinion the trade may get vetoed.

if you make another trade after the one that is being vetoed that you would not make normally you always place at the top
Contingent on the previous trade being approved.

Re: GM A Team 2010 Winter - Trades
Contingent on the Amar'e / Bynum trade being approved, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors have a trade to announce.
Phoenix Suns Trade:
SF - Adam Morrison - $5,257,229
C - Channing Frye - $2,000,000
Golden State Warriors Trade:
SF - Corey Maggette - $8,937,931
Following the arrival or Magliore and Andrew Bynum, despite having a career season, Channing Frye becomes expendable. The arrival of Maggette gives the Suns the ideal 6th man, a more reliable shooter than Barbosa and able to share minutes with the ageing Hill. Maggette is used to the uptempo system, and should be good for 20+ points when called upon.
Phoenix accepts this trade.

Milwaukee does this to get a young SG next to Jennings. It hurts losing our defensive anchor, but we have a bunch of centers anyway, and we get a pick and take a flyer on Mullens
OKC accepts needed a center that could score in the post.
same problem again, OKC would have 16 players. Also if you could put full salaries there it would be great instead of 3.7 etc.

EDIT: my bad looked at it the wrong way.
So is it good so we can update our rosters?

you do not own that pick, it is a Phoenix 2010 1st. If both parties are ok with it being a 1st I will approve it. Please post if u accept that.
