Vince Young overrated or Titan defense underrated
Which one is happening more right now in your opinion. Vince Young has a qb rating of 62 and the passing offense of the Titans is pretty horrible. He isn't even running that much. There not scoring many points. Yet every time they win a game he gets the credit.
The Titans do sport the second best defense in the NFL. One of the top scoring defenses in the NFL. A defense that has set up the offense with 21 take aways this year. Right now which one is more important to the Titans success. The defense or Vince Young.

Vince Young just wins games.
He's already #2 all time, next to Jeff Garcia, on the Just-Win index (brought to you by ESPN).
Anyway, I don't like what Vince has done for the team this season, and am heavily dissapointed, but as far as player development goes, I like what he's trying to do this season. Unlike Michael Vick, he seems to realize that he can't out run the defenders for the rest of his career, and is making a marked attempt at reading the defense and passing the ball. However, he was a horrible passer to begin with in the first place, so he's got a long ways to go.
As odd as this sounds, I hate that he's not taking those open running lanes, but I also like that he's not taking those open running lanes.
As for the Titans defense, I think it's heavily underrated even with all this newfound media coverage. Especially Albert Haynesworth. I know that he's getting light talks about being the DPOY, but IMO, he's been the outright DPOY from week 1 and no one comes close (Of course, homerism plays huge factor in this).
I would even say that he's having the finest season that I've ever seen at DT, but of course, no one would believe me.

Kyle Orten should be like number 1 on that then.
I think Vick was improving his passing ability when he left. Vince has to become a better passer because he isn't as explosive as Vick. Really if Young throws the football more than 25 yards down the field I'm surprised when its an accurate throw.

I'm just generally happy if it lands in the vicinity of the intended target.
The receivers (except Roydell Williams) sure do not help the matters either, screwing up routes almost every other play.
I'm not putting the blame solely on the receivers though, there's too many problems going on between Vince and the receivers, that we're seeing a compounded effect of sorts.

Young is extremely overated, and their defense is underrated but its a good defense not a great defense, that being said I think they still fall apart during the second half. I see Jacksonville coming on strong with Gurrad back now and Jones - Drew finally looks like top running back with there defense this could finally be the year they make the playoffs.

Perhaps. Didn't there passing game look 10 times better under Kerry Collins this year.

Um, Mike Vick passed for just under 3000 yards, 16 TDs, 8 INTs and a rating over 80 in his first season starting. Along with 777 rushing yards and 8 rushing TDs. I'd say that was a pretty healthy mix right there. Young isn't as talented a passer or runner.
I'm positive that will be a better season that any season Young will ever had.

I think Vince Young is going to go through what David Carr and Alex Smith went through, no offensive weapons. At least he has an offensive line to protect him though.
The Titans defense is vastly underrated to me, they get no pub in the media or magazines.

David Carr had Andre Johnson. Alex Smith has Darrell Jackson and Vernon Davis at his disposal with Frank Gore in the backfield. Thats a good amount offensive weapons. David Carr always sucked and Smith might be headed in the same direction.
Vince Young has a better offensive line than the two. Theres a dropoff in offensive weapons.
