Trade question???

Post#1 » by Noonskadoodle » Fri Jan 8, 2010 10:33 pm

Hey I am a Magic fan and there has been speculation that Otis may be looking into making a move for Danny Granger. I was just wondering what we would have to give up to get him from you guys?

Maybe Gortat, Bass, and Pietrus for Granger and Foster???

Gortat is a 7 footer with some upside. He is very good at rebounding and plays great defense but needs to work on his post game.

Pietrus is a spark whether he is coming off the bench or starting he does not care. He is a good 3 point shooter and a very good on ball defender.

Bass is a very nice player who is built like a tank and is fearless. He has a very solid offensive game and can rebound with the best of them. His only knock is his height, but he makes up for it with his explosiveness.

Our team is no doubt going to be active in trade talks, and we have few untouchable players, but Granger is one of them. Sorry.

Yeah that's what I figured, but I was just wondering because ppl have been speculating about Otis going after a legitimate starter at the SF position and Granger was one that came to mind.

Barnes is actually starting as of now and Pietrus coming off the bench.

Yea Iggy has been a hot name being tossed around to.

Yeah, it would take a Granger plus pieces move for Howard for you guys to get Granger, and obviously you wouldn't do that.

I think Indy would do a Foster for Gortat type deal if you guys want a vet with a shorter contract, but that's about it between Indy and Orlando. We don't really have any other surplus SF's right now that we could trade, and you guys really only have the one PG in Jameer Nelson.

I assume you mean that Orlando is looking for a natural SF and want to move 'Shard back to PF?

That's a tough one. I think Philly is only looking to move Iggy if it could also dump Brand or Dally.

Another guy to keep an eye on would be John Salmons in Chicago. He could probably be had and it would be interesting to see what Chicago would take for him.

Well Barnes and Pietrus have been starting at SF this year and Shard has stayed at the PF position.

I dont know how much a difference Foster would be than Gortat other then the contract, and if somehow Orlando could get Iggy from the 6ers WATCH OUT but I highly doubt that.

I never really thought of Salmons possibly coming in that is an interesting thought thanks for your input man and good luck to you guys the rest of the season :).

PS.....Vince just got hurt for us again :( already the third time this yr so I think Otis will be looking to make a move more now for insurance to VC.

What about a Granger for Al Jefferson trade? Al is just getting back to healthy after his big knee injury, and looking like the 21/12/1.7 guy that he was. The Wolves have Love at PF and Pekovic coming over next year (according to our GM and other sources) so realistically we'd have 3 of our 4 best players at the PF/C spot. Jefferson/Granger are pretty even talent wise I think, and he's a good fit on your team too.

The Pacers probably view Granger as more valuable. The steps he's made each year, and the way they can build around him in public is tremendous, and I think they'd want additional value in a Granger/Jefferson deal, especially since it would bury the 1st round pick we just used on Hansbrough.

Bird would probably demand a Granger/Hansbrough for Jefferson/Flynn type deal at the least, if not more value. They love Granger that much. He's replacing Reggie Miller here.

Let's see another example:

The Magic is now losing 4 in a row. So, to change the chemistry, would you like to trade Dwight Howard and Pietrus to Toronto for Andrea Bargnani, Hidayet Turkoglu, and Reggie Evans? No!

Even though all these tree Raptors are good role players, but Dwight is the centerpiece of Orlando, the franchise player, who is expected to lead the team fighting for the championship.

Danny Granger is in the same situation. Sure that the Pacers are down in a winless record, but they still hope to get back to be the contender in the Eastern Conference one day, with the leading of Granger. So, unless Granger is asking being traded, the Pacers would never move him. Got it?
