"Houston willing to deal for Bosh"

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sat Jan 9, 2010 1:33 am

Calm down - I'm not actually discussing the trade.

Just the headline.

I really love the wiretap headlines sometimes. "Houston willing to deal for Bosh;" as in "Fine...I guess we'll consider him...just stop twisting our arms!"

It's kind of like this:

Toronto: "HOLY SH*T!!! You're on fire, Houston! Do you want some water?"

Houston: "...I don't know. Not interested."

Toronto: "Not interested? You're burning up, man! At least let me get a fire extinguisher!"

Houston: "...yeah, fine. Whatever. I guess we'll consider dousing the flames...but you owe us!"

Id rather not take on Calderon. Take Banks instead and find a way to get Sergio from Sacramento.

The most I can offer for Bosh is

Tmac+Landry for Bosh + fillers (no Calderon)

If Landry is included, I say no.

1) Landry is playing as one of the most effective offensive players in the league in his limited time, if you had to rank the top 10 PFs, he'd probably be cutting close or just around there. Aside from Dirk, Bosh, and possibly Amare it's hard to even name players that can score at the same effective rate as Landry.

2) Landry is being paid 3 million dollars, that's VERY cheap for the amount he's contributing to this team.

3) Landry is probably more or so in our long-term plans in the future. This guy is starters material, and he's got potential to be better when given more minutes in a starting role.

BTW guys read the article, it says NOT T-MAC. So this deal isn't including him..

Toronto obviously wants young talent if they trade Bosh, either Ariza or Battier (I'd pick Arzia due to age), Scola, and possibly Cook as the expiring + a future first round pick?

I dunno, they probably would want more though...

The only thing I don't like about dealing for Bosh now is that I worry if he will walk during free agency and leave us with nothing

Rockets swing 2 blockbuster trades

1st Rox send T-Mac and future pick to Washington for Caron Butler and Antwon Jamison

2nd Rox send Yao, Scola and future pick to Toronto for Bosh and Evans

First trade works because with Agent Zero out in washington his contract can be voided and the Wiz get major cap relief with their 3 highest contracts coming off the books at the end of the year and can start over, best news in Washington basketball history

Second trade works because Toronto gets a solid inside tandem for next season with Yao and Scola so they are technically getting an all star in return for their own plus some.

Rockets Do both trades because we basically become one of the deepest teams in the NBA

PG Brooks/Lowry
SG Butler/Ariza
SF Battier/Budinger
PF Jamison/Landry
C Bosh/Hayes

Then in the offseason Rox package Butler and Jamison in a sign n trade deal for D-Wade cuz he wants to be with his buddy Bosh here in H-Town

2010-11

PG Brooks/Lowry
SG Wade/Ariza
SF Battier/Budinger
PF Landry/Dorsey
C Bosh/Hayes

Then the Rockets are set for the decade.

Don't stop there.

After we acquire Wade, we swing a deal with the struggling Hornets by trading Lowry, Dorsey and the right to Fredric Weis for Chris Paul

PG Paul/Brooks
SG Wade/Ariza
SF Battier/Budinger
PF Landry/Dorsey
C Bosh/Hayes

After the Paul, Wade and Bosh trades. I think we might need to ship Cook and Marty Leunen for Durant

Paul
Wade
Durant
Bosh
Yao

seems about right

then of corse we have to get lebron and kobe, by trading cbud and ariza to both teams for kobe and lebrno. that way we have

paul/brooks
kobe/wade
bron/durant
bosh/shane
yao/landry

only thing missing is dwight howard. maybe our draft picks for this year and a 2nd for 2011, with some cash considerations for dwight

Come on guys, these are ALL unrealistic, I'm thinking more along the lines of this:

T-Mac + Cook to the Nuggets for Melo and Billups (That's 25 MILLION IN EXPIRING!!!)

We then trade Brooks and Ariza for Roy, after that happens, we'll sign Amar'e from the suns...JUST in time for Yao to return..

Billups/Lowry
Roy/CBud
Melo/Battier
Amare/Landry
Yao/Hayes

I don't think the Lakers or Celtics can stop us, well MAYBE the Celtics..

i forgot about melo, but who needs roy when you have aaron brooks and shane battier? i say we "convince" melo to join our team . he'll take lebrons place and lebron will be the starting power forward, let yao ming do all the defense in the paint, he is a giant after all so shouldnt be a problem. not like he cares about disrespecting an oppenent by dunking, i mean blocking their shots

only way this trade happens is if another team is involved.

Return to Houston Rockets
