I'd say if Portland wants to get past the 1st rd of the playoffs they need to get a big or 2. Murphy, and Diener for Miller and Outlaw would get them a big man. We'd save money on next seasons payroll and have a PG who would be like a coach to AJ and any other youngsters we might bring in. Problem is there is still a TJ Ford on our roster. If the depth chart becomes this,
1. Miller
2. Watson
3. AJ Price
4. TJ Ford

I guess well have to live with it. There has to be some way to move TJ but damn me if I can see it.

Yeah I'd be fine with that. Fact of the matter is Ford isn't movable at this point with that ridiculous contract he has and his declining play. The only problem with trading Murphy and Diener for Miller and Outlaw would be that makes us very thin at the 4 and 5. We'd basically be dependent upon Hansbrough starting and excelling, and Foster being healthy and McRoberts continuing to develop.

I'd be ok with Hansbrough and McRoberts at PF, we have Foster and Soloman who can play PF too and then Danny has shown that he can do it as well if we want to go small.

I think having Hansbrough starting in that situation for next year is a good thing, since it's going to be AFTER next season where we get competitive. That gives Psycho T valueable minutes to improve his game and be very productive when the team is ready to compete. Take our licks now, we aren't going to win anything w/ this team anyway, take another year of whoopins while devolping Tyler and Roy.

I too would be a little concerned about that frontcourt rotation. Outlaw could perhaps help out a little in that department at the PF spot if O'Brien was to go smallish. He's not exactly strong, but at 6'9 can help stretch out the defense a little with his shot.
