He basically broke 3 laws.
Drinking and driving, Marijuana, Driving while on cell phone.
Since when is it illegal talk on a cell phone while driving in St. Louis? I'm almost 100% sure it isn't but I could be wrong, do you have any documentation saying it is illegal in the state of Missouri or the city of St. Louis. Not saying your wrong but I am personally unaware of such a law here.

Was he smoking marijuana? Do you have proof of this? I'm not doubting he did but as of right now saying he was actually smoking is just an assumption.
And to everyone, everyone makes mistakes, you guys act like you are perfect. I'm sure if it was one of your family memebers you wouldn't be like well he deserved to die. Hancock was still a good guy despite making bad decisions, which everyone does.

Apparently some people have forgotten this.
Tell that to the 15 thousand families that had to coke with their loved one being killed by a selfish drunk driver every year.
It's MURDER!

I remember rolling up on one of my first DUI fatals 3 years ago -- the drunk driver was spewing out profanities because of his broken leg. His victims, an 8-year-old boy, 13-year-old girl, and their mother & father were all dead on arrival. They had just left the ice cream shop after watching their daughters school play. No chance to grow up, to enjoy life, and have a family of their own.
I have zero sympathy for him (but I do for his family), and I'm thankful that he was the only one who got killed.
We had a drunk driver 6 months back, kill three generations in one accident -- Grandmother & Grandfather, mother & father, and 2 children.

I'm an EMT & FF and have encountered some similar situations.
And I agree with everything you said. I have no sympathy for him he is an IDIOT. I do feel sorry for his family & friends though.
Drunk Drivers are some of the scummiest people on earth.
Being over two times the legal limit & possibly being high at the time isn't just making a "mistake".

Exactly. No one deserves to die but he really brought it upon himself. Why would you go drink and drive and risk your whole playing career? Call a cab, you have millions of dollars. The thing you have to think about is, if he didn't die, everyone would be calling him an idiot for having weed in his car, talking on his cell phone and being over the legal limit in alchohol. But since he died we all feel sympathy for him, I guess that's how it works though. It's horrible that he died, his friends and family must be devastated. Especilally if he has kids. My dad died in 1993 when i was 4 and that was very hard and I can't imagine if the kids are older. But he basically killed himself.

LOL, how did he murder again? I gotta hear the crap you guys make up for this.
The fact is the matter is he didn't hurt anyone but himself and you guys are like what if, what if. Guess what he only hurt himself, I would say death is a pretty good punishment for drinking.
I'm sure he went out driving like yeah my plan is too kill me someone tonight.
Also the more you guys talk the more funny this gets, he was "over the twice the limit", actually no he wasn't get your facts straight, he was under twice the limit. Although none of you guys would admit to mistakes because you guys are perfect.

I never said he murdered anyone, I was referring to idiots like Hancock who do drink and drive and kill an innocent victim.

Any logical person would understand that getting behind the wheel with a 0.167 BA level (you would be feeling that buzz for sure. Plus he may have had marijuana in his system.) may put other peoples life in danger.

Bro, perhaps you misunderstood the reports? His BA level was 0.157-percent, the legal limit is 0.08. That's twice above the legal limit.
I'm not trying to hammer on your player, but more so on drunk drivers in general. I've seen too many innocent victims die because of stupid decisions like Hancock's.

Over twice the limit would be .16 or higher. Unlike what you guys said he was just under twice the limit. Not that it matters either way he was drunk, but you guys don't get facts straight.

It really really has nothing to do with "my player", it has to do with someone's death, and you guys are like **** him anyways. Not that he hurt anyone else but **** him.

I thought I heard he was over twice the legal limit.. My bad..
It still was close to being over twice the legal limit and he might have even been high.. No excuse.. I'm not going to sit here and pretend I'm going to shed a tear for this guy. I'm not, he made a terrible decision and he paid for it. He is extremely lucky he didn't take someone out else with him.

This is honestly a moot point. He was well over the legal BA level.

Sorry, but like I said, I feel for his family and that is all. I really don't give a sh*t that he died, I've seen too many of these go the other way -- the DUI driver gets a scratch and takes away three innocent lives.

I do feel for his family as well, but I could careless that he died.
Perhaps with the truth coming out, ESPN will stop treating him like he was this wonderful human being and an important part of the Cardinals.
The guy had a similar run-in a couple of days before that was covered up and had a reputation among teammates before arriving in St. Louis.
Kudos to the St. Louis media for contiuning to report the truth. No matter what "Town Drunk" Tony LaRussa says.

I agree Scrub..
It's a real shame that Hancock is getting so much sympathy when he endangered the lives of others..
But when former NFL LB Kevin Mitchell dies of a heart attack at a young age ESPN runs the story for about 10 seconds and it's never really brought up after that.
There is something blatantly wrong about that.
