Carry on.

I love Lorbek, great, skilled player, but not strong or tall enough (like Mark Gasol), not tough enough. I cant see him more than a role player there.

Anyway NBA is stars game, in Europe star is the team, and some times the coach.

Funny thing is that they use as an example Barcelona, while that the most successful European team last 20 years is Panathinaikos

I think Lorbek would be a great NBA PF on offense. On defense I'm not so sure. But certainly I think he would be a good NBA player. As for Panathinaikos they are definitely the most talented team in Europe, not Barca.

This.

Tim Duncan is a Hall of Fame Big man, whose in a class of purely his own.

Stop comparing these international players to hall of famers.

To compare Ricky Rubio to Pete Mavarich is comparing Pepe Sanchez to Jason Kidd.

Get it? It's not even close.

Why do you base the Euroleague on the HYPE of Spanish homers and the hype machine of ESPN? I follow both leagues the NBA and the Euroleague. Rubio is no Maravich and is overrated. He's an average point guard for the Euroleague to be honest about it. Sanchez was a good player in his day in his own way certainly brilliant on defense and at running the pick, but he was never even a star in Europe.

He was a role player in the Euroleague, much like Rubio is now. So please stop making statements that you have no knowledge of or basing your opinions on totally subjective things like what ESPN, Draftexpress, or some Spanish homer said. The reality is that Lorbek is a DAMN GOOD offensive PF. I am telling you damn good. He would be a handful for any NBA defender on the block.

This thread is fully an example of how distorted the US version of the Euroleague is. People talk about Rubio (a role player and a fairly average level point guard in the Euroleague) and talk about him like he is the Jordan of the Euroleague. There is a lot of ignorance about the Euroleague in the US and that's a simple fact.

that ricky the role player and navarro, they both suck and are role players
their role is when they play for spain, they usually crap on the other team, specially navarro, who is been craping on teams for at least a decade. But they are nothing more than role players, i totally agree
but them being role players is not that bad i mean, not unless you are on the receiving end of that ****...

LOL@Navarro being as good as Ginobili.

Navarro is a very good scorer and that's it.

And that "role player" discussion is ridiculous. Almost every player in Europe is a role player.

Just remember Evans and Jennings face NBA Caliber defenses every day.

Rubio's a damn bust, even more obvious then the Oden 2007 draft.

Bird and Magic (aka KSWN) you really sound pathetic every time you bash Rubio. Saying he is a role player at the Euroleague is just ignorance but coming from you we all know it´s plain hate. You know Barcelona doesn´t need to play him more than 20 minutes per. If he were playing for some belgian or polish crap team (no ooffence to their countries) he would play 40 mins per and fill the stat sheet like no one has ever done in Europe. Just get over your hate for Rubio and Spain.

And BTW apart from greek teams and a couple more from here and there the Euroleague doesn´t really mean a hell of an increase in level from what Barcelona faces every week at the ACB.

Just being curious, that Basque origins of yours come from a separatist parent?

Rubio has a weird shot on his 3 ball, set shot sorta like Kidd in a way.

However to say he's a "bad shooter" is wrong, he is over 45% or so on 3 balls.

He also shoots a high % on 2 pt shots.

He doesn't shoot much, but that's not his job there.

That said he's nothing like Maravich, he's not a score first player. He's a pure pg, if things work out he'll be a 13 pt, 10 assist- 4-5 reb guy and be near lead in league for steals. He will shoot a high % on his shots and make players around him better.

NO. He is overhyped. Possibly a bit overrated by some people too. But saying that the most overrated player ever is a role player makes you look so dumb...

Is this a joke?
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

This Barca could win around 35-40 games in the nowadays NBA... if in the East, it could do Playoffs.
