Ot- Bosh for Bynum rumor

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 4:31 pm

I would love it if LA did this trade because they would become an even weaker team defensively. Perk, KG and Wallace would have a field day with those matchups.

they would own the glass though.....i hoe it doesn't happen myself(doubt it will anyways).
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their
shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and
you'll have their shoes.

Bosh can't defend though. Sure he's a great scorer, but they would have no presence in the paint. Perk would especially have a field day if we met up in the finals. In fact Orlando, Cleveland and Boston all would, no matter which one of them made it.

Bosh can defend. Look at what he did during the 2008 Olympics. He'd probably look a lot better in LA, especially since he wouldn't have to expend all his energy to get 25 ppg.

If Bosh is really leaving Toronto, it's not a bad deal for the Raps. They move Bargnani to the 4, and then get a low-post threat/banger in Bynum. They'd pretty much have a poor man's version of Orlando's team last year.

Would love the deal for the Lakers. Bosh would be a monster in LA. I've seen him be a solid defender before and with a solid cast around him I think he'll be fine.

Just give the lakers the title if this happens. Bynum is overraterd.

Do you not agree? Lakers are already stacked as it is. You add Bosh and no one will beat them.

Is there a credible source to this rumor? Or is it fan-based like the Big Al one?

He's a little redundant with Gasol, but they do definitely become stronger. He's a solid defensive player. They'd miss Bynum's presence in the post, but I'd still rather have Bosh.

No I don't agree. They play the games for a reason.

Can

Even I would be more afraid of the Fakers if they had Bosh. Ouch. Please, basketball gods, do not let that happen.

Oh, I agree they would be better, but I am not one to ever concede anything, especially in pro sports.

It's an interesting trade idea, anyway. Bosh would certainly make the Lakers at least a little better in most ways for the upcoming playoffs, but I do think that James, Howard, and a healthy KG would tear LA up a little more than usual -- and Bosh might wind up in foul trouble early more than once.

Over the summer, LA would either have to offer Bosh a fortune or watch him walk. I'm not sure which they'd prefer. They honestly might just use him as a This Year piece and let him walk, figuring they can capture someone else helpful for less money.

Bynum would be OK for Toronto. For one thing, Toronto has to trade Bosh or risk losing him without getting anything back. Odds are good he's going somewhere before the trade deadline. Bynum . . . is one of a few Lakers players who I think are really playing below their potential or far too inconsistently. I don't know if the Zen Master is unable to motivate them or if Kobe is demotivating them or what, but these last couple of years have really lowered my admiration for Phil's coaching skills.

Kobe's an amazing scorer, but the Lakers frequently just ride him like they can't think of anything else to do, and it clearly hurts the morale of some of the other players. Kobe loves nothing more than a close game where he can take a buzzer-beater to win, but that's got to be tiring for everybody else after a while.

So Bynum might blossom in Toronto . . . or he might wilt, if his confidence can't handle being traded away from a ring contender for a better piece. I mean, seriously, I think the trade to Minnesota has hurt Big Al's development. On the other hand, it hasn't hurt Gomes. Different players react differently.

Jammer

Are you watching?

This is EXACTLY what I said in your other thread. When he is hot, his 3s should equal his post-ups. Sheed has played a fabulous game today. If not for RR's trip dub, he would win the cigar IMO.

I bet this goes down. I'm surprised it works from a BYC standpoint but apparently Bynum/Farmar/Morrison for Bosh works.

Bosh presumably is going to walk, so Bynum really is a great return for them.

Meanwhile LA turns an inconsistent and injury prone guy in Bynum to a true franchise big man in Bosh. He and Gasol would be a weird combo, but from a talent standpoint it is just insane. And there's no way Bosh would leave that situation as a FA.

The Lakers would have some incredible luxury tax problems though.

Are there enough shots for Kobe, Gasol and Bosh? Currently there's not enough for Kobe, Gasol and Bynum. Bosh is used to taking a lot more shots than Bynum.

How dare you speak of the savior like that?!? LOL He's been overrated from the get go, yeah he put up 20/10 numbers, but it was for about a week and then got hurt 2 years in a row and he was the next coming of Wilt! Only in LA! Bosh would be a better option for them, yes he's not a banger, but the guy is a legit 20+/10+ guy who can probably fit into a second fiddle role with no problem!

good deal for the lakers, he could opt to stay as well over 2010/11 if i'm not mistaken, does he carry his old deal to the lakers ?
