I think a trade is going to happen

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Sat Jan 9, 2010 7:59 pm

For the first time this season, I feel now that it is more likely that we make a trade for a rotation player than we don't. Last nights loss and the recent trend of losses and not playing top level ball have made me think that Danny will try to make something happen. Where your missing Tony Allen, its time to add some more talent. I think the Sheed signing signals that the owners are willing to spend. Some deal for our expirings and maybe Tony or Glen and Giddions or Walker might get us something.

The question from now to the deadline needs to be, who could we get so that if we lost any starter for the playoffs we'd still be ok. For point we can probably just get the best guy alalible for the min. Someone always gets cut. For the 2 3 4 and 5 I think bringing in a forward would cover it as guys like MD and Sheed can cover a few spots.

Gomes, Sessions, Noch, Hinrich, Deng, preferably a young vet.

I'd love to see us get a legitimate backup small forward who isn't really a shooting guard who just happens to not be able to shoot outside jumpers.

I agree a trade is coming.
And it better be a pg or sf or both. We don't need a center pf or another sg.
can't wait to see what happens and a lot of teams are getting desperate which makes it easier for us and our expiring contracts we have scal, T.allen giddens ray allen walker and house that can be had.

I say Ray Allen and a future number 1 for Amare. You know pho would rather save the money.

or we might sign somebody. Ainge seemed to like Hudson's game and probably helped him get to Memphis via Chris Wallace. There's some motive behind that. Maybe a trade but right now I'm thinking Ainge is waiting to see if anyone gets bought-out. I'm guessing McGrady's name has been mentioned.

So where are you trading Perk and or Sheed to after you make that deal?

We're going to be full force fairly soon, I don't see why we would make a panicked move like that.

I would like a deal of

our expirings(Scal, Giddens,Walker,(T.Allen))
for
Cook, J.Jones

Cook is young, great 3pt shooter and given a right opportunity he could even be our starter down the road at sg position or at least replace House of the bench...also his game is more versatile than Eddie. Ok the price for that would be Jones 3 year contract but he is(at least was) a good 3pt shooter in sf position. Both players are not in rotation in Miami and because of even more 2010 free space I could see Miami trading them.

scal, big baby, and tony to portland for steve blake and martell webster

scal big baby tony JR to New Jersey for Najera, dooling, and courtney lee, or najera, yi, and t williams

1. scal, tony, sheldon, JR, and Bill to Milwaukee for Ridnour and Warrick

2. scal, tony, bbd, sheldon, JR, walker to chicago for Hinrich, gray and hunter

3. scal, bbd, tony, JR, walker, sheldon for radmonavic, turiaf, and randalf

4. Tony allen and a pick to sacramento for donte green and sergio rodriguez

5. tony JR and bill to la for sebass and thorton

6. tony sheldon jr bill for gomes and jawai

7. tony JR bill and a pick to utah for ronnie price and cj miles

8. tony JR bill to washington for blatche and young

9. tony scal bbd eddie sheldon jr bill to philly for thad young, brezec, carney and dalembert

whcih one do yall think is most likely? unreal? and which is your favorite? and which one do you hate?

my only problem with this is it leaves our need for a backup point guard unfilled and crowds the 2/3 position, maybe trade cook for a point after?

I think Danny Ainge is going to aim high and try to use his expiring contracts and draft picks for players such as Butler, Jamison, Prince, Hinrich, Andre Miller etc.

If that doesn't work than I think he won't do a small trade. He likes the chemistry of this team and will probably just keep the team as it is and add a buyout player.

We shall see, the trade deadline is about a month away.

Why would we want Cook and James Jones? They suck. Cpride's right, we can do a lot better. A lot of teams are going to start panicking about the salary cap. Its going to be a buyers market.

I would love to see the C's somehow get Deng or Hinrich from the Bulls. Though I'm not sure they would be willing to just take on a salary dump in a move for them. However if the Bulls were able to move Deng and Hinrich for expiring contracts they would have a ton of money at the end of the season with Miller and James coming off the books too.

The only way it would make sense for Chicago is if they plan to throw money at Dwayne Wade this summer. Which is probably what they want to do. They might be able to pick up his buddy Bosh as well.

Why would you ahve to trade Perk os Sheed? It could be a year one rental and he is gone same as if o had ray. You know when KG is coming back, because I sure don't? Also you have never have enough big guys who can rebond and score. Imagine Amare on this team 3 years from now with RR at the point. That would be a nasty 1,2 combo.

Bottom line is whoever we get has to be someone in the playoff rotation

Rondo, Ray, Pierce, KG, Perk
Sheed
MD
House

I don't think a trade is going to happen. I think someone's going to get bought out and for the 3rd year running, we're going to add a veteran after the trading deadline expires. Hope it's more of a PJ Brown type impact, and less of a Cassell/Marbury type impact.

If a trade happened, I'd look to move House, Scal, Giddens or Williams. Those 4 are expendable and won't be on the team next season anyway.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I would be pretty happy with Hinrich, and I think he would do well away from Chicago. Deng on the otherhand I am not so keen on. He seemed like a borderline All Star a few years back but now he seems like a pretty average player on a pretty average team.

A little off topic but I didnt want to start a new thread for this as its kinda a fantasy. Anyways,

What if Danny tried to trade KG for the pieces to land Bosh. Here's my thoughts:

Boston trades: KG, Sheldin Williams
Miami Trades: Richardson, Haslem, Beasley

Miami saves about 3 million in total salaries which helps them save since they're currently over the lux tax line and aren't drawing crowds. The more important aspect for them though is propelling their team into the upper teir of the East with a Wade / KG / O'Neal core and hopefully convincing Wade to stay. Sheldin is throwin in b/c they'll needs minutes at the pf with Beasley and Haslem leaving.

then .....

To Boston: Bosh, REggie Evans
To New Orleans: QRich, Boston first rounder
To Toronto: Haslem, Okafor, Beasley

- New Orleans gets the expiring for Okafor they want (something rumored earlier this year) and picks up a low first rounder. If they want Davis instead of our first I wouldn't let that hold up the deal.
- Since Toronto still is looking bad it appears Bosh will leave. Not only do they get something but they get a a solid center who would be a perfect fit next to either Beasley or Bargnani. If Bargnani or Beasley could play defense at sf it would be a real interesting and talented line-up. Even if not they would still have a very young, strong frontcourrt. They also dump Evans bad deal as an extra incentive.

As far as we are concerned the two deals equate to KG, Sheldin, and our first for Bosh and Evans. Even though Bosh's contract is up after the season I think he would resign since we would give him the best chance of winning a ring.

Suns are on pace to win 50plus their not trading for Ray Allen he might not start over J.Rich at this point in his career. Amare will opt out this summer so it saves the Suns nothing..
