Can we stop handing the title to the Lakers right now (regardless if this trade happens or not)? The C's have only one more loss than them and the Lakers have played 25 home games out of their 34 so far. Just because the idiot Bill Simmons says they are going to be "historically great" doesn't mean they will.

bosh is going to walk ? the only thing that would drive him out of toronto are the fans, he prefers Toronto to cities in his home state and he prefers a situation in which a team is built around him.
the only reason he'd leave is if he thinks he can't give the team what it needs to get to 45 or more wins every season. raptors might not want to give him the max in that case they'd be better off building around someone who hasn't really been given a chance to prove himself.

You guys gotta be kidding me with this.

Bosh is arguably the best big man in ALL OF BASKETBALL. He's not the defender that Dwight is, but he's twice the scorer.

He's 3rd in the league in rebounds, 8th in the league in scoring. How can you possibly not be afraid of him joining the Lakers? Bynum's 15 and 8 is VERY different from Bosh's 23 and 11. Bynum is averaging .5 more blocks per game. Does this really make Bosh a downgrade?

Jumpshooters KILL Perkins. Bosh routinely goes OFF against the C's. Despite the Raps always losing, Bosh is one of probably 3 players that have owned Perk this season and previous seasons. KG will take him? KG will be awfully busy with Gasol. Granted I have no respect for Gasol, but he is certainly a viable option. Having a forward who can shoot the J in Gasol is trouble. Having an F and a C who can do it? It's dangerous.

But there's too many people who need the ball in LA. Everyone said that about Boston too. Kobe can pass, and he's taking a zillion shots a game right now because he needs to. Kobe and Bosh would become fast friends on the court.

To say that you're not worried about Bosh to the Lakers is crazy. To say you would be HAPPY with it is almost as bad as Laker homers who say they would never do this deal.

this would not be a good development for us and would be a steal for the Lakers. what has Bynum ever done? he's had a few good games but this would be the Gasol deal all over again. The funny thing if I asked everyone on this board whether they would trade Perk for Bosh straight up I bet the answer would be no. YOu're looking at some of the same issues with Bosh for Bynum. Bosh is a superior offensive player and maybe even a better rebounder but he does not bring a physical presence.Gasol is actually tougher inside than Bosh and Bynum is undoubtedly tougher than Bosh as well

Yep, that's what I was saying earlier. I think this trade actually hurts the Lakers because they no longer would have any toughness in the paint. Scoring won't matter if they are giving up more points then they are making.

Bynum is signed for awhile correct? I can actually see this happening. I wouldnt be ready to give the lakers the title but i do think this would be an upgrade for them.

I really hope this rumor is false. Not only is Bynum's obese contract on the Lakers' books for a while, but he is injury-prone and will never reach Bosh status. Chris Bosh, if traded to the Lakers, would give them a title and possibly a dynasty if they resign him, which they likely would.

Count on CFan79 for thinking exactly the OPPOSITE of what any normal NBA fan would think. Bosh is light years ahead of Bynum. Defense? You got to be kidding me.. You ever trying playing good D in a pickup game? That's what Bosh goes through every single game on that crappy Toronto team. its hard to play defense if your the only guy out there doing it!

This deal is a nightmare for fans of other teams besides the Lakers. They are going to kill teams..

Bosh doesn't even play good defense on his own man. Sure they'll be able to score like Phoenix, but they'll defend like them too at the big positions.

The poor Raps board is in complete denial about the possibility of this happening. They'll go 5+ pages on a thread about a news article mentioning even the most trivial information/rumor about the Raps, but the original post in their forum regarding Bynum has only gone 6 pages, with most dismissing it as hearsay. Every other Bynum thread is getting locked immediately.

Not too sure why Raps fans would be scared. They'd be getting pretty good value for a guy who was about to leave their team for nothing. Then again, they probably feel defeated since everyone outside of Toronto predicted Bosh leaving a long time ago, despite the fact that Toronto is the center of the Universe.

LA would get slightly better, since Bynum can disappear when he doesn't get touches. However, they lose 40-50 pounds on their frontline and Bosh would basically take shots away from Gasol.

Yep, it would probably be better for their team to have Bynum. Their style of just hacking up 3's isn't working for them. They should try to be more like Orlando was last season. Pass it in first and throw up a 3 if the paints clogged up.

Artest, Bosh, Gasol front court could be a nightmare.

Unfortunatley I could see both sides doing this, (Bargs/Bynum seems like a better tag team then Bosh/Bargs).

Toronto has no need to do this now.

Toronto will re-visit this Bynum/Bosh swap in the off-season, when Bynum BYC status expires, if Bosh chooses not to stay with Raptors

If Bosh wants $$$ and go to a LA (or Dallas/Houston/San Antiono) ... Toronto will oblige him, cuz they wouldnt want to lose him for nothing to Miami.

Boston Fans can breathe, cuz Bosh will be in Raptors Uniform this playoffs.

I think people believe it because they won the title last year, not because they're this-and-that after 34 games of the regular season. You as a Celtic fan should know more than most fans that the RS is a marathon of games that are only a means to an end and that true title contenders play for stakes in April, not January. I'll quote McHale in 92 who said seeding doesn't matter unless you don't think you can beat anyone, anywhere (followed by, "I'd love to play Chicago.")
