Ot- Big Al and Kevin Love hate each other

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:35 pm

I've been reading that Al and Love don't like each other and that one of them will definitely be traded. Recently Big Al was offered for Danny Granger, but that deal was shot down by Larry Bird.

There's talk that they want to bench one of them if a deal isn't made. I feel their styles are just too similar. Neither acts like a center, which is also the case with Bosh and Bargnani.

Hear say on both accounts, however the feeling is a deal is going to happen soon. With who, I haven't heard. One of the mod's on the minny forum apparently has some link to the org, and is hinting something big going down within a month. Hopefully it's al going to portland

I wonder if a 3 way is possible with

LA, Toronto and Minny

Bosh to LA
Al to Toronto
Bynum to Minny

They shouldn't have even gotten love in the first place. I was talking about that draft with my buddy the other day, cuz I couldn't remember exactly how they picked love. And then I remembered the feeling of seeing their original pick, OJ Mayo -not a bad choice; a scoring sg, a position they needed- traded for brad miller's runt of a son. I actually don't mind love's game, but what a bad pick for that time.

I know, I don't think they've made a good selection/trade since 1995 and KG was a no brainer.

^^^ Come on now KG was hardly no brainer. Four teams could have picked him over Minnesota.

He was the only great player left on the board. Should I applaud them for not going with Big Country?

Big Al is the guy they want to move, he doesn't pass the ball and they are convinced they want to run the triangle and Love is a very good passer and rebounder but he is not Al Jefferson scoring the ball and never will be. Big Al also is the one who makes a lot of money.

Offering Al for Granger is hardly going fire sale Granger is a terrific and versatile player. They should be able to get a good deal because they are looking to go big for small but it could be tough to find a match.

If Charlotte wanna make a run this playoffs, I think they should get Big Al before the deadline. Nazr Mohammed, Diop, and 1st or multiple future picks might do it.

Chandler has one of the worst contracts in the league, but he could do well alongside Big Al IMO.

That's true because unlike Love he can defend a nutsack. They would have a pretty impressive starting five. Chandler, Big Al, Wallace, Jackson, Felton. Most of them are hardnosed defenders.

Charlotte loves Diop and Im not sure why Minny would ever make that deal.

Love shouldn't even be in Minny. McHale should've stayed with Mayo or grabbed Brook Lopez.

Jefferson/Lopez/Flynn or Jefferson/Mayo/Flynn is much better.

Wouldn't you expect to build around your best player? Al is the better player and one of the best post scorers, why not use an offense that goes with his strengths instead of using the triangle? They really don't have the pieces to surround just one guy, maybe that's probably why they are entertaining the idea of trading their top player in order to get other pieces but can you really have a winning team centered around Love?

I don't understand why Al to Portland has been such a big topic. Why would Portland want Big Al? They have LMA at PF and if they play him at C, it seems like the same issues Minny is having will come up for them. And when/if Oden comes back healthy next year, the situation is far worse.

I love Al and he is a better scorer than Love but the guy still hasn't learned how to pass out of the post and his jumper has been in Rondo land this year. Sure he is rounding back into shape after the injury but he has a new GM and HC and they aren't getting the guy putting up 23/11 they have gotten 17/9 now he will probably get there but he isn't making up for it on the defensive end.

If you make up your mind that the two of them can't exist together then make a deal sooner rather than later. That said it would be a short list of guys I would deal him for. Maybe Love isn't going to be the man you build around but he can be very effective in a lineup that is built around someone else.

I wonder if OKC gets the itch for a low post beast to go with Durant and Westbrook and maybe they send Harden and Jeff Green to MINN.

Anybody else notice that cfan79 started this thread without proposing some sort of outlandish four team deal that we get in on?

It's almost like they're the opposite Bargnani/Bosh duo, in that these guys perform most of their damage down low as opposed to on the perimeter. Well, maybe Kahn will trade for another PG.

Yeah more like my big fantasy, if there was a coach that could work with Al better than rambis, what's his face is that guy. It's in the morning I can't remember his name, he was coach of the year at some point, you know.
