Trade Harris?
Hey Guy's not tryin to jump the gun. But should we seriously look at trading him? Either now, Deadline or when we know our draft pick? How will waiting till lottery affect his value. If we trade now then who for and what with.
Harris and Sean for?
Thoughts?

I feel like Larry Brown has broken D.J. Augustin's resolve and ate his soul. Dude is complete trash right now.

Re: Trade Harris?
What the hell are we going to do with DJ Augustine? Harris is struggling right now, hes on a sweet contract, I don't want to deal him for trash. I want Harris to become our future 6th man off the bench.

Re: Trade Harris?
IF we traded Devin, it would need to be for TANGIBLE '10 cap relief. Nazr+DJ offers none, since Mohammed's contract runs through 2011. Also, we can't sacrifice free agent woo-ability, and Devin is DEFINITELY a better FA draw than Augustin.
I would do a deal involving Devin and T-Will for expirings, Jennings and either LRMAM or Ersan. That would give us extra breathing room under the cap this summer, and Brandon is enough of a name/talent to keep elite FAs interested. The last thing we want is to have a ton of money to blow on 2nd- and 3rd-tier FAs. We'd end up offering Rudy Gay and David Lee max deals and be cap-strapped and mired in mediocrity for years.

Re: Trade Harris?
Sorry but I'm sick of Devin right now he's playing horrible sore wrist or not.I thought Nazr was done after this year so i figured this would give us more cap room and i don't think D.J. is a bust yet.I haven't seen him play this year is he really that bad?

@ Ecuhus. I don't think the Bucks would give up Jennings for that package.

Re: Trade Harris?
I dont like this trade right now.
If we dont get the #1 pick and we draft a PF, maybe but a Bobcat Pick would have to be added. I am not worried about Nazr's contract. I really doubt any BIG FAs come here next year anyway. I would be upset if they give any 2nd tier FA big money.

Re: Trade Harris?
Augustine? Are you serious? We can get a lot more for Harris than that. The guy hasn't proven anything and your giving up a potential 2nd-3rd scorer for that? No way.
If i'm gonna make a trade for Harris i'm going to look for a point guard that can shoot the rock. I say we go for Kirk Hinrich Great shooter, great defender, descent at everything else.

Re: Trade Harris?
For his career Harris (surprisingly) shoots 45% from the field... Give the guy some help and we've all seen what he can do.
His injuries are a bit of a concern but he's still an important piece going forward...

Re: Trade Harris?
I would trade him, but only for certain players. I would not put him on the block, but my ears would always be open.

Re: Trade Harris?
I'm sorry, but that Bobcats trade is brutal.
If the Nets fail in the Wall lottery, a Harris trade has to provide significantly more cap room and/or a legit top prospect.
This deal saves them very little, if anything in terms of cap space and Augustin isn't anything close to being that level of prospect.

Re: Trade Harris?
I still wish we could find a way to trade Harris for Mayo, but alas, that will never be realistic.

Re: Trade Harris?
One thing I noticed from all the posts is that everyone is open to trading Harris. No one flat ouy said hands off! It really does show how important VC was for Harris. Drafting Williams and trading for Lee really has affected his output. Is management to blame for aqquiring these two? Or does this team more time gell?

With his injury history, current contract, and declining performances. Can he be moved for a favorable trade to the Nets?

Re: Trade Harris?
Well it seems like Thorn has heard us. I don't have the article, I think I got it off Netsdaily somewhere, but it seems like Harris is being dangled possibly for Bosh being the big name. Harris most likely won't land you Bosh/Big AL but at least Thorn is trying. Let's deal Harris now while his value is still fairly high. A young point guard like Rubio/Augustine and an expiring would be fair value. We could open even more cap room, get younger, and maybe land 2 max guys. Wall or not I think our best move is to move Harris at the deadline. Also the article talked about another (who cares) deal most likely involving Boone and or Battie.
The only problem I have in trading Harris is do we look for a PG (what if we do land Wall), a SG (what if we don't), or package him with Yi and picks for a stud PF possibly.
