GT: Lakers (29-8) at Spurs (22-13)
When: 8:30 PM ET, January 12, 2010
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
Huge game for us tonight. So far this season we've struggled against the top teams in the league and if we're going to contend we're gonna have to start stepping up in big games like this. If we're gonna win this one we're gonna need big games from Duncan and Parker and we're going to need to play some consistent vintage Spurs style defense.
Go Spurs!

Its half time 53-41. Spurs are playing great so far. Duncan has been awesome and the team D fense especially from the guards is amazing. Georgie is putting together a great game. Kobe is a sick man. Putting some tough shots in the hoop. Spurs look real good so far only a hand ful of mistakes. Need to take it to them in the final 2 quarters.

Hill and Duncan have been great and the defense has been great. Hopefully we don't repeat that performance we had against Dallas. Lets keep it up.

Is anyone else surprised on Bynums footwork? The guy is putting together a nice game. First time all season I am confident in our Defense...and its because of the guards not the bigs.

This game will be a huge confidence booster should we win this...and so far so good (Spurs up by 12 at halftime). The game may not mean much to the Lakers (right now at least) but may just be the victory that we need to start going on that patented Spurs run which hovers around post All-Star break...only this time it may ignite MUCH sooner.

Lakers outscore us 20-5 over past 9 mins. What the hell. Its starting to look like the Mavs game. We need to be stronger mentally and put games away. Pop get ginobili and Duncan in there and finish them off.

Yep this could be the Mavs game all over. Parker's gotta step and take over right now, we need him to get on a hot streak.

Great win and a real confidence booster for the team. Duncan and Parker played great and the bench was really good too, Hill, Manu, McDyess and Mason were all solid off the bench.

Very impressed with how the TEAM played. Just about everyone contributed. Duncan was the ace, Manu was the spark, Tony did his thing, and the surprise of the night....GEORGE HILL. The guy was fantastic on both ends. We didn't need Mahimni tonight

But we did need Haslip to come in and do his best Matt Bonner impression. I have no idea if thats a shot he hits reguarly or if that was just a fluke.

Re: GT: Lakers (29-8) at Spurs (22-13)
Hey, my first post but longtime RealGM reader and basketball fan in San Antonio.
Good to see the Lakers taken down last night, better to see a Spurs team looking confident and clicking. I still feel a bit unsatisfied, having not seen a complete Laker team vs a Spurs team that has lately started looking like what we hoped they would preseason.
I was really impressed with Bynum, who was a monster picking up Pau's slack. I thgouht Kobe also was playing at a very high level, as usual, making everything he threw up until going out. Odom played great, Im sure doping on Sour Patch Kids. No one on the bench showed up except Brown, who played with the passion that should come from a non-starter in the absence of the team's 2 best players. Artest seemed a non-factor, maybe just concussed, but Fischer and Farmar have no excuses.
Spurs offense was making jumpshots and seemed to be frustrating the Lakers defense, both of which I think would have happened regardless of whether or not Pau and Kobe were in. Ginobili, Tim, and Tony, all had fantastic games, but the bench was what won the game, especially Hill, who played excellent defense and shot 6-7 + 6 assists. Blair did not see much playing time, probably because of the match up with their bigs, he also seems to be missing a lot of chip shot lately.
We've got a horrible back-to-back tonight with OKC, but elsewhere the tired Lakers face the Mavs, a win-win situation for Spurs fans. I really hope we face a healthy Lakers in the playoffs to destroy them legitimately.
