drew has struggled against dampier. with tonight's performance, i'd be disappointed if that was the case again.

Phil thinks Kobe will play in DAL tomorrow. About Pau playing: "It's up to him."

Phil continues taking shots at Pau.

Yeah, but I think Gasol is doing the right thing. Kobe could have used a few games off when we had a wimpy schedule, especially when Pau was back in the lineup. Now it's biting us in the ass.

Even if we lose it's just a regular season game. Let our players heal up, let dallas have a hollow victory just like san antonio to give them a sliver of a hope that they can compete with us and move on to the next game.

Of course I'd love to win, I just know our record this season on back to back road games without Pau is pretty miserable. Not gonna worry if we lose again.

Yeah, go ahead and allow us a shallow victory. We'll take it. Why should we be above anything the Lakers would accept? See, that is what could be said about us losing to ya'll without our defensive anchor the last time. However, I don't quite remember Laker fans stating how shallow the victory was.

35 points is never shallow

Its a long season and every team has its ups and downs, injuries and schedules to deal with, hasn't changed in the 20 years (WTF? I"m old?!) I've been watching the NBA. Its how the team responds to these stretches that says a lot about them. We lost last night, down some men, but we also didn't play terrible and fought pretty well in the loss. But a loss is still a loss and our supposed championship depth needs to step up. Everyone touts LO and Artest as guys that could be 1st and 2nd options on other teams, well they need to prove it when they get their chances. Bench guys always want more PT and greater responsibilities, well step up and prove you can earn it.

I understand injuries and fatigue, I do. But these guys are making millions to do this job and its the NBA, anyone can beat anyone on any given night, so I will be disappointed if the effort isn't there. A loss is one thing, but mailing a game in is entirely different. If we want to be champs again, we should be able to compete with this Dallas team even without Kobe and Pau, we still have a big 3 after them for f's sake. Shallow or not, SA still beat us last night at at the end of the season the W is still the W. Of course its a new game in the playoffs, but games like this mean more then I think some people care to admit. These are rally-round type of games and I hope the Lakers come to play regardless of who is in.

If you need any more, just look in your trophy case. That should do the trick, too.

“I think he’s going to give it a try,” said Phil Jackson. “He’s spent all day trying to get himself ready for the game.”

Jackson explained that even if Bryant is hurting, he won’t necessarily remove him from the game if he’s still helping the team. If the team play is suffering due to Bryant’s back, however, he’ll likely come out.

- Sasha Vujacic, who tweaked his hamstring against San Antonio, would play at the two guard in Bryant’s place, with Shannon Brown next on Jackson’s list after the Slovenian.

- Ron Artest, who’s battling finger and foot injuries, will start.

- Luke Walton (back) is again available, hoping to play as many minute as Phil Jackson allows.

- Adam Morrison, who suffered from a sore throat and flu-like symptoms yesterday, is feeling better and could play.

and pau hopes to play friday.
