35 points is never shallow
Its a long season and every team has its ups and downs, injuries and schedules to deal with, hasn't changed in the 20 years (WTF? I"m old?!) I've been watching the NBA. Its how the team responds to these stretches that says a lot about them. We lost last night, down some men, but we also didn't play terrible and fought pretty well in the loss. But a loss is still a loss and our supposed championship depth needs to step up. Everyone touts LO and Artest as guys that could be 1st and 2nd options on other teams, well they need to prove it when they get their chances. Bench guys always want more PT and greater responsibilities, well step up and prove you can earn it.
I understand injuries and fatigue, I do. But these guys are making millions to do this job and its the NBA, anyone can beat anyone on any given night, so I will be disappointed if the effort isn't there. A loss is one thing, but mailing a game in is entirely different. If we want to be champs again, we should be able to compete with this Dallas team even without Kobe and Pau, we still have a big 3 after them for f's sake. Shallow or not, SA still beat us last night at at the end of the season the W is still the W. Of course its a new game in the playoffs, but games like this mean more then I think some people care to admit. These are rally-round type of games and I hope the Lakers come to play regardless of who is in.
