It's gonna be close. But if we keep going the way we've been going (1-9 in our last 10) I can see it being a close race for Hall. Plus Eric Staal has to start playing better eventually.

With the season Carolina has had thusfar, Staal will have three good games then be out for the season with an injury.

Once he gets traded to Edmonton.

I've only seen Taylor Hall play in the 2 games against the gold medal winning USA team...Anyway, he didn't impress me one bit. Not a showing on the big stage I'd expect for the consensus #1 overall pick. I can't believe Carlson was a 2nd round pick. Washington got lucky on that one.

I feel the same way about Hall that I did about Stamkos. He's gonna get taken 1st overall, but by the 2nd year it'll already be debatable on if he should have been taken 1st. All I know is I would've taken Doughty 1st overall and it's not even close.

I watched that game. It was outstanding.

The Minnesota announcers have a serious hard-on for Guillaume Latendresse.

The Hawks are damn luck they have a game tonight and that last night's abortion isn't part of their massive 8-game road trip. They need to crush the Ducks tonight otherwise this road trip could be rather hairy.

Oilers lost again tonight, that makes it 5 straight. They need to dedicate a camera to Pat Quinn because he's anything but a happy camper behind that bench. I'm waiting for him to just walk out one of these games.

Yes we are, only 2 points separating us from Carolina for last place. And to add to the misery it looks like Khabibulin going to be out for the season.

Man, what a game so far for Detroit/Chicago. I tuned in just for OT and now shootouts and wow. Feels like a Game 7 Finals.

EDIT: Datsyuk is a beast in SO's. Besides Ribiero, he may have the nicest reel of SO goals in the league.

I couldn't even get mad about the two Wings goals in the shootout. Those were just awesome.

Luckily the Hawks prevailed using much more basic methods

Yes!! My Oilers lost again tonight, too bad it had to be in overtime.

But on the plus side I got tickets for tuesday's game against the Blackhawks. Gonna get to see Toews and Kane destroy the Oilers, its gonna be magical.

I lovelovelove Toews man. Kid just reeks confidence. Most kids his age in the NHL, you see them go for 3-4 dekes and miss wide. He just skates up, nothing fancy, tight wrist shot, skates back to the bench. Cammalleri does the same thing and I love it.

Its amazing how successful he is in the shootout considering he does the same thing every time. Skate in, look for an opening and snipe it, usually five hole. He just has this incredible confidence and quiet sort of swagger about him. Not quite "take a slapshot on a shorthanded breakaway or shootout" Hossa level swag, but still impressive given his age.

To be honest with you, I liked it so much better when the Pens sucked. Yeah, it was awesome watching them win the cup last season because it was the first time any team I liked finally won something. I was too young to remember the first cups the Pens won.

Now, I can't even go to games because the people that go to Pens games now are pathetic. They know nothing of the game. They make Crosby and Malkin to be angels who do nothing bad on the ice. It makes me sick.

I loved going to games in 02-03 and 03-04 when the team sucked. The people that went to the games loved the team and they didn't care if the team was no good. We still cheered for the Pens and we went, and talked hockey. We knew what was going on. It was fun. Not so much anymore.
