They're getting treatment and sent through rigorous test or rehab, but other than that it's a waiting game. The Lakers have one of the better medical doctors in Alex Mackechney who world renown for strength training methods. Mackechney had his own practice but when he single handedly saved Shaq's career he was hired by Dr.Buss who was no fool and recognized he need that man working for him.

Could be, everybody has a different threshold for pain and nobody heals at the same pace.And times are based on the average human recovery time, but nobody healing time is an exact science.

Well, that sucked. First time I've seen the Lakers since 1990 and the results were quite a bit different. We don't look anything like a team right now and we're missing Pau big time.

As for the game, it looked like Bynum was having his way with Duncan. The shots he missed weren't really from Duncan's defense (with exception to a few blocks off of offensive rebounds), but everything was right at the basket. Duncan looked great as well, although I think Bynum did a decent job on him in the first half and challenged every shot. Dude was just making everything. Hell, the entire Spurs team just wasn't missing. When they hit those 4 3-pointers in a row in the 2nd quarter is when the game really got out of hand. There's just not much you can do about that. They were already hot, but that kind of broke our backs.

Farmar and Fisher straight up stunk. All they do is bitch and complain when they get burned on defense. Our PG situation is just sad. So is our ball movement.

I think we'll be fine once we get healthy, but this has been painful to watch.

And now Kobe's having back spasms. When it rains it pours.

Spurs fans are a riot!

We could of gone out there with an all bench line up, lost, and they'd still be dancing in the streets like they just won the finals.

Well I guess for some teams like the Spurs, a regular season win against a championship squad is their "finals" since they'll never get there in the playoffs. Might as well send em a replica trophy for their job well done.

Kudos to winning a home game against a banged up team, you uh "deserved" it?

Good breakdown, semi. Thanks again for the tix. Other than the butt-kicking, it was fun.

Ball movement and team defense were the things that stood out most to me. As soon as the ball got to either Andrew or Kobe it just stopped. Conversely, the Spurs really kept things moving, with and without the ball, and pretty much diced us up in that regard. I think they were shooting close to 60 percent through 2 1/2 quarters. A lot of that was hot shooting, but that's just bad defense on our part, especially on the pick and roll.

For me, Andrew as an individual summed things up, good and bad.

Semi was dead on -- he was able to get just about any shot he wanted against Duncan. Granted, he's not the defender he once was, but he's still a smart, stout 7-footer, and Andrew toyed with him at times. If his shot had been falling, he could have gone for 30 or 35. Didn't get to the line nearly enough, and his lack of athleticism was apparent around the rim, but otherwise I was really impressive by his ability to create shots.

On to the bad...

I love going to live games because you get a much better sense of perspective in terms of angles and space. In that regard, Andrew has a long, long way to go in terms of seeing the court/passing out of double teams and team defense, especially on the pick and roll.

He just doesn't see the double team, or open cutters, at all, and I mean AT ALL. About the only pass in his arsenal is to either kick it back out to the closest man on the perimeter, which is exactly what the defense wants.

And defensively, I'd bet Duncan had at least three or four point blank layups because of our lax defense on p-n-rs. Stopping a pick and roll is a two-man job, at least, and teaming up with the likes of Fish is a disaster waiting to happen. But Andrew didn't do much, either. His lack of instincts and lateral movement were just glaring.

Regarding the Spurs, Duncan and Hill stood out the most to me.

Duncan just a jump shooter? I don't know about that at all. It looked to me like he had just about everything in his arsenal working. He's having one of the best seasons of his career, and it showed last night with a classic Duncan line -- 25 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, four blocks, two steals. What an amazing player.

And I really, really like Hill. He's got such long arms, and is so active on defense. He's going to be an excellent player in this league for a long time.

Don't really want to get into the whole fan debate. Suffice to say I've been to a handful of games around the country over the years, and San Antonio is the least sophisticated/passionate in my book. I'll leave it at that.

I noticed that as well. The other benefit, like I mentioned while we were being toyed with, is that I wasn't nearly as upset watching it live as I would have been watching it on my couch where I tend to throw things. Heh.

The other thing that surprised me were the amount of Lakers fans. There were lots, and we were surrounded by people yelling "KOBEEEEEEEEEEEE" even as we were getting lit up. Pretty annoying, actually.
