Good interview. I like seeing him praise Rambis. Sometimes I get a bit concerned about the players relationship with him. They loved McHale as a coach and I feared Rambis may end up being more like Wittman, relationship-wise.

Yep, nice to see him praise Rambis and nice to see him point to defense as the main area for improvement. One thing that concerns me just a little with KLove is that he seems to take that rookie/sophomore game thing too seriously. Sure, it'd be nice to see him play and it would be good for him to get the exposure, but I'd like to see him be more casual about it.

I found him to be the most animated when I asked him about the Rookie Game. It is important to him. Should it be? I'm not sure. I think we all want a pat on the back in what we do. He just wants what he feels like he deserves.

It's understandable. It's bull that he got snubbed and he feels he has something to prove. In a sub-par season like this (and last season), it takes individual achievements to help get you through.

I don't blame him. Early in his rookie campaign, Mayo was considered the star and Love was the mistake (even from Minnesota newspapers). It didn't matter how well Love was performing, he was always being compared to Mayo. He couldn't be recognized for his own accomplishments without being reminded of others.

If it's his motivation to play in the rook-soph game, than I'm happy the game exists. I'll be ****** if he doesn't get invited, but I hope if he doesn't get a chance to play he handles it better than us and can shrug it off.

I understand all that and I agree to a point. I just wish the individual accomplishments didn't mean so much to him. It's one thing to get snubbed and use that snub as motivation. It's something else for that to be what you are most animated about a year later. Anyway, it's probably nothing but it is a minor concern of mine.

Me either. I support Kevin. He should have been there last year. He will play this year without a doubt. I'm a Bulls fan but I'm definitely rooting for Kevin in his career. I found him to be a super nice guy.

I don't mean to come off as a Love hater, 'cause I'm not. He's my favorite player on the team. I'm probably just reading too much into this.
Glad to hear he comes off as a super nice guy. I'd heard unsubstantiated statements that he can be a bit of a douche but I never got that impression from his public persona.
Thanks for posting the interview and nice job.

I guess that stems from the way he responds to some things. when he was snubbed of being selected to the All Rookie (1st) Team, he said something in the lines of "hey, what was I supposed to do? get 30 double-doubles [instead of the 29 he had last season]?". this might come off super-douchey but to me it was kinda funny as in having a very sarcastic mind.
and it's not like he went to the media being totally pissed by getting snubbed. from what I can recall, he just answered questions he was getting asked.

I think anybody that likes to crack wise all the time sounds douchey sometimes, but its like myself, I might seem douchey to the untrained eye, but I think you guys can all admit that I'm one of greatest people in history. Now is that dumb or douchey of me to say? No of course not, its just more greatness.
