Parker has plantar fasciitis

"I'm a little bit slower, that's why," he said. "I don't think it's much different. It's just my plantar fasciitis is killing me."

The injury is particularly troublesome to Parker because he tends to jump off his left foot.

"(It's) the left one, that I plant and everything," he said.

He has been wearing a special sock and told reporters that he plans to play through the injury for as long as possible.

Well this explains why he's been struggling for most of season. Hopefully he can get healthy soon.

The funny thing is I never would've guessed it watching him play..So Duncan had the same thing in '06 huh? The same year in which he destroyed the Mavs in that epic seven game series...yeah even though Parker's game is more reliant on his athleticism than Duncan I don't think this will be something that will turn out to bite us in the rear end. If anything our offense hasn't looked this sharp since our '07 championship season despite the fact that Parker's got pf, Duncan and Ginobili aren't getting any younger, and we have been plagued by the injury bug all season long..It just goes to show how damn good of a coach Popovich is, how damn good of a player Duncan is, and how damn good of a TEAM San Antonio is...

Well you could tell something wasn't quite right with TP. He's been playing too much, he didn't rest over the summer, Plantar can only be healed with rest. A healthy TP is absolutely essential for us to have any shot at another ring.

I have no problem with that..Hill is a quality young player who I say bases a lot of his game off of Parker..We have more than enough offensive talent to let Parker sit for awhile and gain some much needed rest..Jefferson is only playing 31 minutes he can easily start playing the 39 that he had in New Jersey..Roger Mason has been playing well as of late and can start playing 25 or so (playing 20 MPG right now) maybe more depending on how well his rotations are..We'll see tonight what Pop plans to do with Parker but let me just say that 5 out of our next 6 games (including tonight) are against +.500 teams so I wouldn't be surprised if he just stuck to the original game plan..

TP hasn't been himself. He has not dominated on the break as much as he did last year in his career year. He seems to be settling alot. I think that is why we have seen TD step up in a big way this season.

TP has been a warrior all year. You don't hear him complaining or making excuses. Just goes out there and does what he can. He is looking alot better as of late. Pop is real good about managing players mins so I don't think it will effect us too much.

Parker hasn't been as explosive as last year but if he can just maintain what he is providing of late we will make a nice championship run. RJ is really starting to pick it up too. He looks a lot more confident out there. Getting a solid 12-14 points every night and playing solid D.

I just read that Chicago is resting Noah for anywhere between 3 weeks to 2 months because of plantar fascitis. I just don't quite get why we don't do the same with Parker right now. Obviously we need him healthy. If we have to shut him down until the playoffs then that's what we should do. That's still about 2 months away. Hey, atleast give him a month off and play him for the last 5-8 games. It might not heal 100%, but even if it heals a little, it'll still help.

I don't think we can afford resting Parker. We're still only in the running of making the play offs (I know kind of strange isn't it ...).

Anyway, if you rest him now, he might be rusty come play off time.

Plantar generally needs longer than a month to heal. He's just got to play thru, TD did in 2006 when he had it.

Yeah I know it takes longer to heal completely, but I think even a month off will heal it a little (not completely). I don't see how playing him will makes it better. TD played thru it but he was a big guy. He's not overly reliant on his speed. Tony does.

I understand the idea of resting him, and it makes sense, but if he sits out I doubt we make the playoffs.

We'll make the playoffs so not worried about that. I say rest him as much as possible. Lately he looks like he has gotten some of his explosiveness back.

Looks like TP will get his rest. I just hope we can hang onto that 8th seed. I think the Blazers will leapfrog us in the coming weeks.

Yeah, F it - bring on the Lakers. Although, the way they're playing lately, in combination with Dallas' recent play, the Mavs might end up stealing the 1st seed anyway.
